I didnt remember whre is your post saying Windows 11 runs very fast on M1 with Parallels so I quoted this.
I recently read that one of the big changes in Windows 11 is the improvement of the ARM version. So no wonder it flies in the fastest ARM chip. Cool stuff.

with latest build, performance of Windows 11 for ARM is really good - fair to say though, there's noticeable difference with allocated 8GB memory vs. 4GB (more than 8 gigs allocated to Windows for ARM seems obsolete for now), and the Windows Updates + Optimizations (not sure if that was a thing in Windows 10) can easily crank up CPU usage to almost 100% on all the cores...

either way, I'm less skeptical about ARM future by every day I get more into M1 - if that's "entry-level" tier, I can see Windows future brighter as well, in terms of efficiency, ARM platform must inevitably dominate laptop market if nothing else

    ok thank you @StevieDude !
its not a very good result but it works, i have seen worse, esp when WIn 10 came out,
You can see the results of other setups are better , mine too on a Oprekin WIN10 my max is abt 200 usec. But this took me a long time.
But what i see is WIn 11 is not a desaster, so i might give it a try.

I have been running Win 11 Enterprise for the last week and am not disappointed yet.
I run Studio One, Helix software, Afterburner, AMD Ryzen Master, Office apps, and Rocksmith so far.
I have not tried out my Chief Architect software yet.

Yep, not only ARM but other RISC based processors.
Intel just signed/bought for a humongous price one of the key brains and companies related to the RISC-V standard.
And nVidia straight bought ARM, or trying to, so...

Frankly, this whole Windows 11 thing is just rubbish. Open your eyes, people. One must be really young not to get one thing: Windows, performance wise, peaked at Windows 2000. Yes, 21 years ago. From there on, they just stifled the performance in favour of ridiculous and stupid dozens and now almost hundred ridiculous background services that you don't know if they're of any use to you or not, because they use MS language to describe their usefulness.

I'm still using W7 because I'm forced to just for audio, because more than a few of developers I like still don't have Linux versions of their plugins. Using Windows 10 and looking forward to Windows 11? Are you kidding me??? Windows 10 looks and works like shit in comparison to my Linux desktop, and to the Mac desktop. It looks and works like crap. When I boot into Linux, my eyes say "yes!", because it looks so much better and it's so much easier to use.

Screenshot of my Linux desktop provided. Simple to use, font rendering looks perfect, no DPC latency problems etc... just no problems. I don't know why is it so hard to understand for people. I've been doing IT for more than 30 years. I can tell shit from chocolate, trust me.

    Screenshot at 2021-08-23 23-13-21.png

So yes, I'm not looking forward to Windows 11 at all. I'm looking forward to eradicating Windows completely, for so many reasons. One of them being, I like my arse just the way it is - virgin.

    Hey, new is better right?
Windows 11, QR code tatoos, microchip implants, being tracked and fucked with. Why would i want something like windows 7, that brings you peace of mind?
Being dumb and naive, this is the new norm.

If Bill can microchip a vaccine imagine what he can do with Windows 11. You've been warned.

Microsoft still can’t make the control panel more modern and smooth.
There are still a lot of content not updated, they may came from Vista or earlier.
Only a few programs have been designed by Fluent Design.
In 2021, Microsoft believes that it is reasonable to provide WinUI to other C/C++/C# developers. Previously, it was only available for UWP applications.
Windows 11 looks like five generations living together.

Not to bash Mac users, but that's some curious news:
    https://www.tomshardware.com/news/apple-m1-macbook-cracked-screen-lawsuit
    https://www.techradar.com/news/two-...le-over-m1-macbook-cracked-screen-allegations

""The law firm Bursor and Fisher filed a class action lawsuit against Apple this week over unusually common screen cracks on M1 MacBooks, reports 9to5Mac. The firm is accusing Apple of knowingly selling laptops with fragile displays that tend to crack under normal use in some cases and then refusing to repair them without charge. Bursor and Fisher is now seeking compensation for all expenses associated with repairs.

While Apple's latest 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro notebooks based on the M1 system-on-chip received great reviews and made many owners happy on launch, there is also a large number of customers who have experienced unexpected screen cracks and were forced to pay $600 ~ $850 to Apple for repairs. Apple insists that screen cracks were not its fault, but were caused by mishandling or by a small item or particle becoming lodged between the keyboard and screen.""

This should be in a different thread since it has nothing to do with Win 11.

There's a great Windows 11 review from Anthony of Linus Tech Tips fame. An excellent channel for computer nerds. In short, there's nothing to gain from it, especially for content creators. it is just even more annoying Windows 10. Stick to yournicely working 7,8,10 lite versions and forget about 11 at least until 2025 [when lite versions will be available...]. Why? Watch the video.

While at it... this is also really useful to watch. For all those "Linux is hard to install and use" people. :)

Personally, one stupid thing that really annoys me is that I cannot move the taskbar up any more. I've always had it up like on my Linux and Mac. It just makes more sense to me to go up to start an app than down. 11 is full of annoyances like that, even more than 10 or 8. 8 and 7 can look great if you give them some "polish". You can polish a turd when it comes to 7 and 8, well even 10 to an extent.

I dont know about you all but I think Far Cry 6 (right around the corner) could be more of a milestone in a technological standpoint. :guru:

Microsoft reveals how to bypass its own system requirements for Windows 11
"A simple registry hack is all that stands between you and its latest OS.
The fix itself is fairly straightforward too. Simply hit Win+r and type regedit to bring up the registry editor.
Make your way to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup and then right-click the main panel and create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value with a name of AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU and set its value to 1."

AMD Processors Lose 15% Gaming Performance with Windows 11, L3 Cache Latency Tripled
"Apparently, AMD processors officially compatible with Windows 11, exhibit a three-times increase in L3 cache latency with the new operating system. The new operating system is also found to break the "preferred cores" system on AMD processors (UEFI CPPC2), in which the two "best" CPU cores, which can sustain the highest boost frequencies, are highlighted to the operating system, so most of the light-threaded traffic could be sent to them."

I tried the official stable release and had no performance related issues. No bugs encountered. I know there are bugs & they'll resolve them within a year or two.
What worries me is the new design system they have created. It's not complete and it is very inconsistent.
In Windows 11, new design only affects start menu, taskbar, and UWP apps. Everything else looks like windows 98.

Good example - in Mac OS, when you turn on dark mode, everything including 3rd party apps like Reaper adopts it. There is consistency in design.
