I am not talking about mixing wet signal with dry one.

Some photos of parallel fx processing on a single track:

Reaper should have something built in like this. It's fast and easy to do this way instead of creating a new track. I know there are 3rd party plugins that can do this but many modern DAW have this built in.

Late reply, sorry...anyways, I meant native VSTi, Reaper lacks a good suite of native virtual instruments.

Counterargument: If Reaper would include a native instrument suite, it wouldn't be 14MB anymore.
BTW just take a look at the Reaper forum and you will find some incredibly good JS instruments.

    * CPU: Reaper
    * Midi: Reaper, the complements help to improve the midi worklow
    * Multi Projects: Reaper, pretty easy to open a lot of projects and move fx from one to another
    * Interface: Samplitude, I like its default metering and everything gives that flexibility to edit faster
    * Best looking: I love the camo sking from samplitude lol
    * ease of use: Sam, reaper has a learning curve is not rocket science but it can take a little bit more than with other daw

    Extras:
As far as I know in stock sam plugins you can't double click the knob and insert a value which is needed sometimes.
You can modulate and save automation parameters in reaper.

It isn't 14mb anyways, 14mb is only the compressed executable, Reaper itself is around 190MB. I wouldn't mind having a native suite if I will have to reach towards samples, VSTi and other stuff regardless. I like the JS stuff, I'm in contact with the Reaper community, I love Saike's DSP and VSTi but I don't find the JS instruments to be as versatile and numerous as the instruments and samples you would find in Ableton Live Suite, for instance. That's just my perception as a Reaper user.

Samplitude or Sonar, all of them a joke. I think Best DAW Cubase, S1, Logic, Protools and for Dj Fls, Ableton... Bitwig is a shiit. Dont spend a time Very bad gui and absurd.

Actually, I've run the gambit on trying out DAW's, and in my experience Reaper has the majority of them beat in almost every category, especially loading speed and stability, mind you it does have a steep learning curve with all the options it has, and the drop down menus still look dated, not to mention you can't beat the updates every few days or so, none of the other DAW companies update and bug fix near as often, it's actually a great DAW, well worth the meager asking price.......imho

The only gripe I have with it is you can't resize the mixer if you use it on a second monitor like I do

Samplitude that is, reaper is great

at least there is learning. Ableton is "great" but once you learn that you are banging your head against the wall you look for alternatives and Reaper absolutely kicks it's ass.
