    Hi guys,

I could use some help setting up Kontakt for multiple outputs.
I can't seem to be able to set it up properly.

Here is a good video that shows how to do it normally (in Studio One).

Ok, I can do that like the guy in the video, and create for instance 4 new channels.
Then I click on the output to bring up the "channel output configuration window" for the first new channel, which is st. 2, and click on the first physical out. But what I get looks not like for the guy in the video (you can see this at 0:40).
He has in the list Kt. st. 2, Kt st. 3, and so on, to choose from.

That's not what I have, for me it looks like this:

So I only have Kt. st. 1, then the 4 aux channels, and then a bunch of unassigned ones.
If I use the unassigned 1 and 2 for st. 2, I get the plug-in outputs 11 and 12 (which are assigned to the aux 1 already).
So where are the outputs 3 and 4, which I would need for st. 2, then 5 and 6 for st. 3, and so on?
    What am I missing? :dunno:

    Thanks.

Do you picked up the right dll? Your screenshot looks that you have only loaded the regular dll - you need the 8 or 16 out dll version.

The regular Kontakt has, as far as I know, 32 outputs.

The guy in the video also has the normal Kontakt 5 loaded.

    Didn't watch the video first..

Yes he used the stereo version, but as he said it's tricky. Create outs and (<kontakt>) assign them and also activate them (<S1). I can't see an advantage to go the hard way.. if you now you like to use multi outs with kontakt then just use it (multi out version) - believe me there should be no problems with that..

I USE THE STANDARD KONTAKT NOT THE 8 OR 16 OUT ONE WHICH DOSNT EVEN SHOW UP IN MY BROSWER ANYWAY i use studio 2.6 or whatever the latest one is and ive done this since 2.07 so it has not changed anyway heres how you do it......very simple i do it all the time in studio one i just drag one kontakt over set that to kontakt ch1 (the dup will progress chn2 ,3,4 i think u have to change but not sure ) in studio (first one will set up like this automatically )then just right click dup for how many im going to use (or ill add later) go to your mixer click on instrument tab to the bottom left once opened (by default this already is)right click on the kontakt you are using and click expand and click the boxes for how many mixer tracks u want to use(can always add more as song progresses)then add instrument in kontakt and a second one an so on then all u have to do in kontakt after that is click output at the top of kontakt a box will apear at the bottom of kontakt where it says outputs in the drop down scroll to batch funtions and click "clear output and create individual channel for each loaded instrument" and your done its very simple after done the first time i actually have a template set up with 5 tracks of kontakt to start then i go from there i do not mess with the outs like the picture if u hit that function i told u about kontakt already maps them out u can load 10 instruments then batch all the will go down the line of outs but if you dont have the mixer tracks ticked like i said in studio one mixer the channels where there are no mixer u will not have sound......if u cant get it to work i can make and send you a template the template i start off with now is 5 kontakt and 16 maschine outs all mapped

Thank you both for you help, but I'm afraid you don't understand my problem.
Maybe I should have explained it better.

I want to use one (!) instrument in Kontakt with multiple outputs (like a drum library), and have its outputs available in the DAW in the mixer.
(So not several instruments in Kontakt routed to different tracks, but a single multi-timbral instrument routed to individual tracks in the DAW).

For that, one needs to set up Kontakt like in the video above, and I can't seem to achieve that.

    Focusing on Ableton though.

I'm using NI Studio Drummer (session kit) at the moment, but would like to set up Kontakt to have all outputs available generally in the future.

This tutorial is also for using several instruments inside Kontakt, and not for what I'd like to do.

1.click on output tab at the top go to output section at the bottom
    2.click add channel
    3. quantity as many mixer tracks you want to use and number of channels leave at 2
4.in the kontakt mixer first track says studio drummer at the bottom has a 1/2 for the channels its using go to the next channel and click bottom button9where it says 1/2 on the first one ) then change both to the next available outputs and do this for all that you want to use going down the outputs
5.open the library you want to use (i used studio drummer)
7.click the mixer tab at the bottom of studio drummer
8.there is a box that pulls up says output click that and change the channels to what u want
9.do as i said earlier about the mixer in presonus expanding and adding mixer tracks and ur done

now for future use after u have completed this u can just delete studio drummer but do not close kontakt go to files and click save multi as so then anytime u know u want to use this set up before u load instrument just load the multi and then load the library you want to use
edit ....im about to make a multi and put a link up for you to use in kontakt

Ok.. I waited for an answer before .. giving more "wrong" solutions.

In that case *sorry* I would prefer Battery! Same amount of outs but a much more easier routing! Also sample could be easier tweaked!

Not 100% sure but I think the settings you are looking are to find under the amplifier.. and the keyword should be groups! route sample to groups - groups to the outs.

Sounds easy - sure it isn't fun.

Guys, please watch the video I linked above, to understand my problem.
    First 2 minutes are enough.

But at least watch what he shows at 0:40, and compare that to my screenshot.
Why is it different? THAT is the main question.

I understand how to set up multiple outputs, but I don't have the respected entries to choose from (like at 0:40 in the video), I only have what you see in my screenshot.

So, after adding new channels, I have no Kt. st. 2, Kt. st. 3, Kt. st. 4, and so on...
I only have Kt. st. 1.

i understood just took time to build theres the files follow instructions in thread above and your done the reason you dont have them is because u have to save and reload kontakt thats why i said it was stupid on there part so i made and saved the files for you this is set up for 16 outs also

    Man this is frustrating.

With your file, it finally looks like it should be in Kontakt.
    But it's not, actually.

The channel st. 2 is actually aux 1, st. 3 uses aux 2, and so on.
I still don't have st. 2 and so on in the list to choose from.
Still exactly like on my screenshot above, only st. 1, 4 auxes and lots of unassigned available.

Besides, I don't see the new output channels in Studio One.
Only st. 1, 4 auxes and unassigned available, just like above.
This is driving me nuts :snuffy:

Maybe my Kontakt is fucked up somehow.
I installed the latest update, but still the same.
Maybe I need to re-install the whole thing completely.

Many thanks for trying to help

thats weird did u get rid of kontakt and start over then load the file? because it worked fine with me and in presonus just right click kontakt in the mixer window to the bottom left and expand and click as many boxes as u want it will load up all mixer channels i was actually loading a presonus template for you also maybe if i just save my project as a template u can learn from that and have what u need be right back uploading now

    Try setting it as default.
