I know this may have been answered before but as I've collected a number of various Kontakt Libraries (k'd) would these still work if in future, I purchased Kontakt v7.0, v8.0 ?

Are the Libraries legit as far as Kontakt is concerned, or do the libraries all need to be purchased in order to work with Kontakt (legit) and the NI Service Centre etc?

I am thinking of moving to M1 Mac and upgrading everything, so this is the reason I'm asking I guess. Also I guess that the latest Kontakt would always be k'd but with the v5.0 for adding libraries and v6+ for playing some of the newer ones, then I wonder how it will be moving forward?

Hope this question makes sense, as all working fine at the moment on Kontakt k'd on an Intel 2011 Mac but just thinking ahead in future, incase it maybe worth purchasing Kontakt stand-alone so as to not lose my Library collection?

It has, many times in many threads. So this is a dupe thread.
    And, you haven't!
Libraries are not cracked! They are shared, and used with a cracked Kontakt...
You have nothing to worry about.

Ah ok, thank you Smoothed Grooves! Sorry I didn't realise, as it is I guess, a recurring question.

So its all down to Kontakt then. What if I buy a version of Kontakt just so I can keep up to date and be legit with NI, would I still be ok? or does it always need to be Kontakt (k'd) ?

    Apologies

I hear it is possible to run legit and k'd Kontakt on the same system.
    It's all here somewhere, mate.
We'll have to search for it...
Or maybe someone else will chime in.
    I did buy Kontakt once.
So I don't feel so bad!
But for now it's just easier for me to not be legit, and use the crack.

    Thank you.

I guess if I did want to buy legit Kontakt 7.0 when it comes out, I guess they will offer a 14-day demo, which i suppose i could try and add my libraries before buying it.

I am just thinking of dropping the K'd versions altogether if I move from older Intel Mac to new M1 / M2 Mac in future, and if Kontakt also moves to M1 it would make sense?

Kontakt is already on M1...Everything that comes out now is both Intel and M1 compatible.
    Would equal:
    But:
    No, I don't reckon!

The thing is I have bought libs I end up using, to support the devs.
But I still use them in non-legit Kontakt!
It just seems the most logical way.

Im not sure if this helps, has already been mentioned or indeed works, but for users of Kontakt 6.6+ I found that there's a
KONTAKT Manager v1.1.0 R2R that looks like it 'is a :

''library installation / license generation tool for KONTAKT 6.6. You can easily add all your collection at once for known libraries. All nowand then formats, KOMPAKT, INTAKT, KONTAKT 1.X, NKX, NICNT libraries can be located like official Native- Access does, for the latest KONTAKT.

This maybe could help with the older libraries and Kontakt? Not actually checked it out yet but saw a heads up for it?
