Apologies.. did not check the thread category. Thought Artic did, lol..

TBH, since this has three pages "only", I personally think it could be sort of generic. DAW wars - don't even understand the concept

No need to apologise friend, all good but "just use Ableton lol" isn't a solution and to me is a pointless reply...

it is possible to go at this full old manual style, and do it the stone age way, but it just takes a lot of time and effort, so i was looking for a faster way...

hope @demberto have a solution soon...

    looks uncomfortable.

Ableton has it like that. I havnt sorted in a long while, since im using Coloring option in Ableton now, which is faster.

yeah Ableton actual reads vendors here and ignores folder structure. I have no solution for this.
Other than im still using VST2 only and avoid VST3 even if this means using older versions, like for WaveArts Masterverb5-

    Thanx for confirming. :)

Too bad VST3 (at least in Live) is a mess and not an improvement in this regard. And to think this is all legit installed SW..

really really appreciate your work, i downloaded Python, downloaded your script followed the instruction, but the issue is it only outputted like 2 folders, Native Instruments GmbH and XLN Audio, going through the cmd script i saw
Arguments: (['Native Instruments GmbH', 'XLN Audio', 'Flux:: sound and picture development', 'Schaack Audio Technologies', 'D16 Group Audio Software', 'Sly-Fi', 'Kazrog LLC', 'Black Rooster Audio', 'Kush Audio', 'Softube', 'SoundToys', 'Flux:: - IRCAM', 'Junger Audio \\ Flux::', 'Relab Development', 'UVI', 'Scuffham Amps', 'Slate Digital', 'Plugin Boutique', 'Cytomic', 'Rare Signals', 'parallax-audio'],)

so the script successfully identified the vendor's names, but again only two were exported, i'm doing a cleanup and rescanning plugins incase of an issue on my end because of this...

i'll report back again after scanning and redoing this.

Need to fix one thing will be alright after that, some plugin devs are using ':' symbol on their name

The problem is that when the list is to long you have to let it scroll down, very tedious. But on the other hand, who would need that much plugins?!
