I know the company still exists but it seems they’ve had no new products for years. Have they stopped making new products?

I think some of the Ad pak’s for addictive drums are better than the competitors offerings for certain styles, specifically the indie and retro ad pak’s.

seems like it’s been years since they released one.

any news on them still developing? or have they called it a day and just selling what they have?

Didn't they release XO last year? I remember seeing a lot of promo around it.
If you want a company that's really taking its time, take a look a SoundToys...

Take a look at Lennar Digital, lol. One synth, just one. And they have been milking it for like 15+ years now.

It's a bit unfair if you ask me. They overdid themselves so much that they can't improve the shit out of their masterpiece

I read about the dev, he was involved into other DSP work, so he might has side things, such that Sylenth1 is enough. I mean it sold very well over the years.

    XLN Audio i dont know.

Isn't maintaining and updating RC-20 Retro Colour, or DS-10 Drum Shaper, XO, et cetera enough?
    It is still development.

Remember when Dj Carnage pirated Sylenth1 in a sponsored Razer video...

...then tried to act like it wasn't him? I think it was the same video where he didn't know what the VOL knob does, it just makes things very very way more stronger. Or maybe he royally fucked up on 2 separate occasions, I wouldn't put it past him or his fast food order.

The last two things they released seem to be Addictive Drums 2: Beat Producer Edition and XO Lite, both in 2021. Sure, it's just re-used old products but at least it's something!

Yep, it was added to KVR October 10th 2019 and XLN seems to be a company who adds their products to KVR directly when they are released.

I agree that AD2's Indie pack is really good, especially for combining with digital drum samples and stuff. The Toontrack indie expansion doesn't work as well for this, it's maybe too realistic haha

yeah, for me it’s still unbeatable for that kind of thing. I’ve always found the toontrack one works well with more acoustic based stuff but lacks the snap and attack for more upbeat electric guitar indie stuff, especially if you have some electronic elements in the music too.

Anyway AD2 is still great , so no complaints. Just that it must be a good 7/8 years old now, so I was surprised never to see an AD3 in the works. Maybe it is.

I liked BFD3 but never tried AD2 yet. When I tried Superior Drummer 3, it was a wrap for me. I liked everything about it other than amount of content compared to BFD3 but it's getting there too with time. I need to give AD2 a fair chance too I suppose. Is there a lot of content for it?

SD3 is probably the better all round product, but I just think there’s a few kits in AD2 that beat anything else such as the aforementioned indie and retro packs’s, the Fairfax vol.2, is good too . They sound really good.

I guess it’s similar to EZ drummer in the sense that the pack’s are geared towards specific genre’s of music, I just think there’s a couple that are much better than Toontrack.
