Guys I was on youtube today just browsing normally and I got recommended this youtube video, maybe because I listen to Owl City often on youtube music. This means I am familiar with most of Owl City stuff.

At first I thought of not clicking on the video because I thought its another shitty click-bait video about Owl City in 2021, but my urge for Owl City made me click. when I listened to this I was quite shocked because it actually sounded better to me. The original OF JUNE album sounds really bad, very lossy and stale on mixing and mastering.

In this remaster a lot of lossy artifacts are very much less audible and its sounding clean and more musical. It felt like it has more movement also. Overall way better than the original album master IMO.

How did this dude achieve it?

Can yall give me tips on this? How did he reduce lossy artifacts and make it sound better?

What do you guys think? Does it sound good or is it me just being biased because of Owl City?

lol I have already subscribed to him becuase I read the video description and he said that he will release more remasters. I'm quite interested in hearing his work.

My suggestion is to read the manual (very well written) and experiment. Then go back to the manual a couple of dozens of times

There really isn't a definite way to go with this plugin, because the source material will be different every time you use it. Don't overdo it, as some settings can make it sound worse. There is an I/O DIFF button that lets you hear what artifacts are being left out, it can be helpful.

Also bear in mind that I'm not saying this is the plugin the guy who did the video used. I don't know what he used (you could ask him). But this is the only plugin I use to remove lossy codec artifacts.
