    The beat itself is lacking variation -- No Highs, no Ride ? Needs breaks, Alternate patterns, fills or something
    The accompanying Orch 'Crunkish' String Stabs don't really fit with the Westcoast 'Funky Worm' phrase you got goin' there -- in my opinion
    Needs a bassline too -- a groove to carry it and give it that -- funk

    if u mixed it well he should be able to hear the highs and the lows. u always need to push lows and highs a lot since our ears isnt that good in detecting these freqs - look up
    Fletcher-Munson curve: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletcher%E2%80%93Munson_curves and u'll understand that.
    and utube isnt really the way to go to present any demos - since if u dont use imutube which decodes nearly with 320CBR and make it easy to detect the freqs and elements good as reference.
    also soundcloud is shit - the preview function has only 128 - if u make it downloadable its possible to get a 320CBR mp3 up.
    i have this problem discussed with a guy who is signed on big trance labels.(that was his ideas)

    Okay so what has to be done to make this beat stand out:
    First I’d prefer if you put some definition to the basedrum, it sounds very muddy and kind of flooder around the 40-60HZ range. Perhaps some EQ level at 100HZ and let the compressor kiss it just a bit to give that sugar punch :P
    All right so now what happened to the mid-ranges? I hear no life in there. It sounds flat and a bit dead, this can be fixed via an exciter/expander. Just crack up that lid a bit.
    Add something to the hi-freq. since I can’t hear a thing here. Some hatwork here.
    As far as it comes to the complete beat, the actual beat it needs more variation, that other has been mentioning. Make small changes and surprise the listener. Smaller fills, bridges and some breaks, would push the beat to another level.
    Technically it sounds okay, but yeah not sure what your purpose is :)

    I’ve been listening to this beat in two monitors.
    Genelec 8040a and Yamaha NS-10M

    The trick to getting the best quality out of youtube and other streaming sites is to find out what they stream (.flv) and do the conversion yourself, so they dont transcode it at all. Up a hi-quality .flv to youtube *yes*

    The beat is very repetitive. I would go to the relative key in the bridge/breakdown thats missing from your track. Harmonic tension :wink:

    i meant not finished tracks just demos ;) i do that all the time - make some fades and ok.
    normally when i bring a demo u can hear in the most the times all elements.
    how long u are producing?
