Nice to know Reaper users get the Harrison 32C for free. That's a great value!

I think it would be quite funny to spam the Harrison Consoles Youtube channel with "Why Does It Null?" in the comments

I was always under the impression that for an accurate null test you were supposed to use white noise or pink noise. Never realised you could use a band track that isn't balanced perfectly and evenly across the audio spectrum and that qualitative was not supposed to be a determiner.
He's not wrong in the comparison, just what I thought in the approach.

I thought he was using the track he played adding the bottom end then comparing, then the 1KHz, then using that as the reference. I must have missed the pink/white noise bit.. if so then that is my error and on me. As I said he is right. A few of the waves plugins have the same problem too.

As my mother said (RIP) growing up, a lie by omission is still a lie.
Dan spoke his truths. That is all any of us can do. It never means we're right, or that everyone or anyone will agree, but yes, there is not much room for diplomacy in some truths.
As above. I agree here too - he did speak his truth and yes it contains a substantial amount of opinion too. He even says "I like..." more than once which is personal. Then again, it would be robotic if he used third person all of the time. I reckon the truth is one step farther - "It's an all purpose bus plugin, try it out for yourself"

P.S - I tried it out. I agree with Dan the low shelf is nice. I found it very warm. However, personally, I did not like the compression or limiting at all. He liked some of it. I found it completely lacking in any transparency, which perhaps just for me, renders it ineffective for a bus. The low shelf, definitely very good. But that is only my opinion. As a swiss army knife plugin for a bus, you could do worse.
The stats probably are factual based on everything available that is known, no argument.

@BaSsDuDe Yeah, I'm just trying it too!
I actually like the compressor for what it does, but yes it isn't transparent.
And yeah, the low shelf is nice.
But I'm still left thinking what this can give me that I don't already have.
I would have thought a Harrison channel strip may actually have some special character about it, but it doesn't seem to.
    And no saturation possible.
And I thought they had some NLS aspect to their plugins?
    But I must be mistaken.
I reckon I'm thinking of something else that I forgot to remember! hehe.

    Haha! Thanks, I will!
Maybe it is Lurssen Mastering Console I was thinking of? The standalone thing.

    @BaSsDuDe
It can't be Lurssen because that is for mastering.
It was something you put on every channel and bus and your 2buss, like Waves NLS.

Man, Dan really screwed up Harrison with this one.

It's clear to me now that this is just an ordinary outdated digital eq with 32c curves.

The same goes for Mixbus "analogue sound" BS. It's clean as a whistle until it reaches those tape buses, and even then, they are extremely clean as well and actually don't do anything special at all.
