Hi, I have a question about line mixers (eg. Pulse MLX402 Line Mixer 8 Mono/4 Stereo). Are they good? Are they worth investing in? They look like simple and very limited devices, not built as the commonly known mixing desks made by more or less famous companies, eg. Mackie. They are made by unknown brands. They lack EQ and are equipped with gain and master knob only. I have three synths and don't need the use of a microphone. Have you got any experience with them?

The basic requirement for any mixer, passive or active, for me would be:
no degradation of original audio source
no phase issues at summed output
    decent noise floor
    buffered/filtered power input

Do a search on Amazon for - 8 channel audio line mixer. Similat and better, items to be found.

you should not worry too much about the quality, quality is a matter of price. (mostly)

the question is more if you can work with a line mixer, or if an old mackie console - where you can use the inserts to send individual channels post-fader to a multichannel interface for your DAW - is not better to work with.

i mixer without EQ seems useless to me, too. one could as well use a passive mixer, or go directly into the A/D.

Didn't even know that there was such a thing, for me the device is unsuitable. You need a power supply for this.
You can't really produce anything sensible for so little money. Deduct the company's taxes and profits.

I discovered those mixers recently. I am just curious what they are. They look really compact and don’t look professionally.
