+1 for the Front line Assembly video. Raymond Herrera one of the most awesome drummers ever.

As for the thread, I get where you coming from, but I don't think the examples help your point.

it does help my point. I was expecting a backlash anyway...everyone was attracted to the title because it sounded interesting, and then they expected something that wasn't to their tastes or didn't fit with their ideas of what music is...

it was merely my way of experimenting and analysing how people would react to the viewpoint...I wasn't really intending on driving people to agree...just made it seem elitist...

most of the people that reacted negatively helped my viewpoint even more because now I feel more confident about the sound that I like...that even someone who is successful at what he does has to deal with and be generalised and judged by the mass, but still his sound gets through to some people...including myself... it also let me know how deeply people can appreciate and understand different musical mediums and styles...

had I changed the context of the topic just a little bit and encouraged everyone to post the music they enjoyed and thought was smart...then it would've been a completely different discussion...

I've been on forums for years I know what I'm doing...dealing with butthurt people is a skill *yes*

It's question of taste & Habit.
I'm very careful when its about creativity. I understatnd the HK points and somewhere agree with him. But let's give other examples .

That is spot on the money my man. I feel exactly the same way, when I listen to a track I let it overtake me...all the production analysis comes later when I'm trying to learn from a piece of music. It's really two completely different ways of listening to a track. In one you let the majesty take over, in another the technicality.

I don't know if you know about Transmissions but you'd really like it.

Yeah no problem man, it was born out of a conversation between a few people and we decided to push it further and that's what we ended up with. Also the videos are stellar on some tracks so watch them in fullscreen and best quality. I'll be updating it shortly, I would've been more active there recently but there is SO much to do that I don't always have the time.

    Thanks mate. :mates:
It was really tough to make actually because when I posted a lot of time I would make it like a radio broadcast and had to pick and arrange the playlist and then find the best quality audio and usually a killer video to go with it. YouTube didn't even have a lot of stuff I wanted to post. I even have a whole gallery going on in Industrial with quotes and artwork. Even if you don't like the genre you should check it out if just for the thought that went into it.

Sure that would be great, I'm sure in the meantime Feridan will join you and I'll find some time to post something soon too.
