Uninstall Waves, after that delete:
C:\Program Files\Waves Central
C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves
C:\ProgramData\Waves Audio
C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\Waves Audio

Then download Waves - Complete v.12 02.08.2021 (get it from RUTK)
Install it like in the instruction from the post
and you done

 

In a nutshell:


Q: "Hey Audiosex...can I install latest Logic on PC?"

The Logic Pro X problem for Windows users
Logic has long been offered only for the Mac. The audio software can use the strengths of the Mac in a targeted manner:

- Over time, Emagic has decided to focus on the strengths of the Mac and not offer any other versions of Logic for Windows.
- This controversial decision may be one of the reasons why Logic is so successful. Emagic’s takeover by Apple certainly didn’t hurt either.

Use Logic on Windows
To use Logic under Windows, you are unfortunately forced to travel back in time:
- The last version of Logic that still ran under Windows was Logic 5.5.1. It can occasionally be found used on Ebay and with a bit of luck on Ebay classifieds or one of the alternative classifieds portals.
- This Emagic Logic version from 2002 runs stably from Windows 2000 and up to Windows XP (SP3).

@FrankPig and @BEAT16 Guys, reading through your quarrelling is a PITA for everyone and bloats this thread in an unnecessary way.
Lemme sum it up for the OP:

Problem: Plugins scan with Ableton Live 11 and lastest Waves bundle from sister site (v2021.08.02) takes too long.

Solution A: Since you can't deactivate the scanning in the DAW itself, edit the Option.txt file.

Solution B: Uninstall this Waves bundle and take an older one with Waves Central and install only the pluggies you need. If the scan still takes too long, you can still deactivate the scan in the options.txt file.

Problem solved.

Was this so difficult? No, please don't answer, it was a rhetorical question.
