It's mostly just that people look at them differently because they can't have them for free, so they attain some mythic cache that they don't really deserve. People always want more the things they can't have...
That kind of challenge I can understand, but there is no other benefit to have the UAD when in this modern times we have all plugins cracked , even the better ones.... Actually I do. I live in that kind of places, where normal youngster can not afford even to buy legit Cubase to start from scratch a music business, by himself without any support... Even the mentality is not like that, that you should buy what you use and abuse... I am not from Switzerland or Sweden. And again I don't get it, what will UAD change in our production ... That is my opinion, yours may differ and i am okay with that, just please don't criticize me if you feel that i am in wrong...

Actually it simple, it seems that you forgot one simple thing... We don't need new plugins but we are happy when we get them cause its fun! That's it! Really! Its like getting a new toy. Lets say that UAD gets cracked (we know it wont, but lets say hypothetically that it happens...) It would be a pleasant experience for most of us to try out plugins we never had the chance before. Who said that we get plugins only for the better production usage? Also there is a problem when someone demands for new plugins... Anyway, as i already said... new plugins are fun to fiddle around and that's why we are happy when they come!
Yes, for sure.... But as i can see or understand, fun is maybe for you and maybe few more users, for others i cant guarantee. Yes, it was a question with my mind expression about those plugins.... I hope you get it... Anyway, doesn't matter....
WITH ALL THIS 10K HYPE,NOW I AM THINKING THE VIETNAMEASE GUY HAD LEGIT LEAKS WHAT IF R2R DID MADE A CUSTOM DSP FOR THE UAD TO WORK ON THE COMPUTER CPUS?? THEY FIXED THE FAULTY SLATE DIGITAL PLUGIN WITHOUT ANY SOURCE CODE SO NOW THERE ARE MANY POSSIBILITIES.
if R2R actually made a SHARC<->x86_64 cpu emulator that would be so much more than reversing haha (although i wouldnt be surprised, guys are geniuses) that would be legit useful in general lmao.. people on GitHub would go crazy for this haha
is it (UAD DSP) the same one like the one used by the Neural DSP Quad Cortex ? The QC one is of course a quad core.
IMAHO the ALL CAPS is not necessary, I think we have thousands of plugins to replace UAD ones (for example: SSL are just wonders), I don't see the interest to have these ones in particular, nothing exceptionnal compared to thousands other ones... Is it worth the hard and ultra-loooong hours / days / months of work necessary to elaborate patiently a hardware emulator? I don't see the interest. There are plenty of plugins available on UAD that have decent native equivalents. However, there are also plenty that don't (at least yet)...
