Agreed. I'm on a laptop so it's not that bad. But I do hope he updates the UIs for higher resolutions.

 

there were no mac versions of his plugins before, but maybe that will change for the relaunch.

 

Actually spell check strikes again sustain was supposed to be system meaning that these plugs are windows only leaving Mac out
windows is to this day awful when it comes to working with music, for whatever reason the os just never seems to be able to get it together so by the time you get something to actually work, you have completely forgot what you were wanting to do with it in the first place lol

 

if anyone still have the file/installer from the public beta, pls PM me. Can't download from the site no more now apparently the public beta is "closed". Need to reinstall.

Can't wait for him to release the rest of the plug-ins in x64. I had almost forgot how good they sound!

 

Yeah I'm going to check back as soon as they are all updated. So excited for this!

 

Now, he is working on releases of VST2 x64, plus some plugins get improvements, new features, revisions of existing features, fixes and other smaller stuff (Density and NastyDLA, as example). Other plugins are just 64 bit releases.

Then major updates: all mkI become mkII, all mkII become mkIII (FerricTDS mkIII first, September, this year, then others).

Then VST3 x64 (might be x86 too).

Probably, after that he will be supporting/updating plugins from time to time. No words about new plugins. But still, major updates and x64 vst2/vst3.

 

Awesome! We can at least dream about new plug-ins from him in the meantime

 

I'm running 20 year old plugins in Reaper with zero issues. It's pretty shocking that seamless bridging of 32-bit plugins isn't standard in every DAW at this point. Removing support for 32-bit plugins is nothing other than user hostile laziness on the part of other developers in my opinion

 

For not to spoil old projects with legacy x86 plugins, you can just save both x86 and x64 plugins (and update x86, they have updates too), just dll files must have different names. And DAW will see both files. Esp, reaper.

 

FerricTDS mkII v2.0 out today!

New in version 2
With the mkII version of FerricTDS, further improvements has been introduced.
1. New plugin operating level calibration has been introduced which serves two purposes: better gainstaging at the outside of the plugin but also a completely output volume compensated processing. Additionally and to support this, the ballistics of all three meters has been carefully revised and aligned.
2. Now, an updated tape compression algorithm delivers punch and glue but with less IMD. While in its duty cycle, this compressor also creates additional 2nd order harmonic content on top.
3. Internal routing has been updated as well. To catch transients passing through the compressor, the limiter operates right afterwards now. Both together work in parallel to the saturation circuit.
4. The mkII version limiter is actually an oversampled ADC converter clipping simulation. This replaces the version 1.5 limiter which was based on envelope gain-riding.
5. All FerricTDS non-linearities are running at higher sampling frequencies internally.
6. A sophisticated analog signal path emulation has been added, providing some subtle qualities we all associate with the high-end analog gear.
7. Includes VST2 x64 plugin.

Mod/class mode removed... Overall differently sounding plugin, DC offset, second harmonic, different saturation, another sounding limiter.... Fully reworked.... So, i have all, mkI 1.5.1, mkII 2.0....same with old legacy x86 and new x64

ThrillSeeker XTC mkII v2.0

The mkII version now introduces:
• 64 bit VST plugin
• Plugin operating level calibration for better gainstaging and output volume compensated
processing.
• A reworked DRIVE/MOJO stage featuring full bandwidth signal saturation and a strong
focus on perceived depth and dimension. It provides all those subtle qualities we typically
associate with the high-end analog outboard gear.
• Special attention has been taken to the mid frequency range by introducing signal com-
pression in this band. Both, compression and saturation in this band distinguish between
upper and lower mid frequencies and are designed to provide mid-range coherence but
also presence and grit when driven harder.
• Relevant parts of the plugin are running at higher internal sampling frequencies to mini-
mize aliasing artifacts.
