So, like a bunch of others, i get this error upon loading certain patches in the Bitwig 4.01 from sitser...

    Anyone got a way around???

    THX

    EDIT: working now.

some have suggest we can keep previous registration file from 3 version within the folder and it will work anyway. So i did. Yes it will stay registered, but it might cause problems when saving an loading a previously saved file. i.e. causing the above mentioned error message.

so if you too run into this error: you might wanna remove this old reg file from the location and place the one included in crack folder upon Bitwig asking for it (exactly as suggested in the text doc).

    cheers

Do you mean that certain saved projects don't load if you still have the reg file from v.3.3.1 in the bin folder?

Is there a good reason for saving the old 3.3.1 reg file? I deleted everything from the old version when I installed v.4.0.1 so I haven't run into this problem. Good thing that you solved it at least! :)

Actually version 3 project was good to load.
The following occured: Loaded project saved with 3 version > Able to load, no problem > Then modiefied project and saved as another name.
Opened THAT project and then the *Null character* error showed up.

Note: This happened without registering the new added reg file from crack. After moving the old reg file and starting the authorisation with the new one this problem disappeared...

I do not know if there is reason to keep those old reg files. I placed them somewhere just in case.

It's quite common that people forget to delete the old .reg file when updating so I can see why some people have ran into this issue. Good to know!
