Hi. I was trying to install Waves 12. The installation happens without any issues but when I rebooted my system, it got stuck on the apple logo. The progress bar gets stuck on 100% and the system stays that way. Tried booting into safe mode - didn't work. Restored my time machine backup. I have 2019 MBP with Catalina. Any ideas?

I have a good one. it begins with an "M".

I want to find one of the very last Pro machines that can run it. is 2019 too late?

"So, yes it is possible to downgrade to run macOS Mojave 10.14. 5 or later on all the MacBook Pro's released in 2019 till date. Even if the MacBook Pro you purchase comes pre-installed with macOS Catalina 10.15, it would be possible to install and run macOS Mojave 10.14."

This happened to me as well different OS (Windows 10, to make things worse rewrote Bios on older UEFI DDR3 accepting mobo in order to boot OS from an M.2 NVme that I keep raving about in most of my posts, I'm able to have 100 Tabs open that are resource hogs and no lag, as well as FL Studio and PT open).

What helped me is getting something called Binisoft (https://binisoft.org/), Malware bytes bought it though and now known as:

To prove what I'm saying is 100% correct I'll wager 1000 USD this moment reinstall your Wav 12 Bun, cut the wifi or pull the ethernet cord out and it won't freeze. The moment you turn it back on it will get the signal to freeze up your OS. Maybe the other people in which whom are using this
"Catalina" knew to block waves in their firewall, or maybe have strict network rules on software accessing their computers internet.

Don't worry it's free. Before I learned my lesson with Wave plugins I promise you I reinstalled my OS a total of 4 times. What it's doing is calling home and freezing up your shit. Someone can do this in Windows Firewall but it's messy, so this is better (binisoft) option. Exact same thing happened to me frozen on startup With windows emblem, I was lucky if Desktop loaded. I"m sorry I'm not proficient in Mac OS but I'm sure now knowing how to mitigate what's going on you can research a Mac OS firewall manager and stop Waves from calling home and then getting the signal to freeze your OS. Try one of these if you can or find one along same lines

    Good Luck!
I'm not sure if you have intel 64 Bit Mac but this can show you what I'm talking about

This is last time I'll edit this post. Neway I would put Waves as the highest number 2 software company that has ingenious shit in it to make sure we can't use prated stuff, the number 1 being Avid Pro Tools. You'll see with Wireshark though what the waves bundle is doing and prove I'm right
