Hi everyone, just finished a Hendrix remix which I think has come out pretty good.
It was hard to make a video to it as there is only so much info and stills/video clips to choose from.

Hi Fraggle, cheers for the great comments, and yes definitely more to come. I'm working on several rough ideas at the minute. (I'm still learning to edit etc )
The remix took about 6 weeks in all. I tried a few ideas out before settling on what I used. It started off quite laid back until I found a more upbeat vibe.
The video took a similar amount of time. Again experimenting. The main thing was how uninspiring the video looked until I found the right sequences to use.
So about 3 months in all. Respect Tez

 

Hi Dios, yeh I thought about a guitar solo but I decided it would be a bit cheesy. Especially as musically it was completely different anyway.

 

Freedom is probably my favourite Hendrix track so I was a bit dubious about playing this!

Having said that, this is a really interesting remix alpha3. I really like the dub vibe and the fact that Jimi's voice sounds so bloody amazing.

I actually am a personal friend of a guy that gave Jimi a place to get away from the world and he was one of the last people to see him one month before the guy's death. This guy is an amazing person that knew all the greats including Hendrix, Reed, etc. I will be making a post about in the future to pay homage. Your song is stellar and we're actually making an album and I (as well as probably everyone else with ears) would like to see your music on it.

Wow, that's amazing. I bet he's got some great stories and memories. Definitely go ahead with the homage idea. Can't wait to see it. The album idea is great. I've been loosely following the development. Just read the rules. Mmm. No remixes etc. The reason I'm doing remixes is simply because I'm stuck on my own with no access to good vocalists. Using them as a vehicle to help me develop my own Rock/Reggae/Dub kinda sound, as well as learn to make music video's. Very much a worx in progress as I've only recently got back into music making after a 12 year break. I will though definitely have a go at some original tracks and see what happens.
