    Hi there,

I'm having an issue setting up Kontakt inside Studio One Pro 5. It fails to scan both standalone and portable Kontakt 6.60 and I don't know why.
I tried reinstalling Kontakt several times already. (Haven't tried reinstalling Studio One. Though since Kontakt is the only plugin I'm having trouble with I doubt reinstalling Studio One itself would do much).

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

check where was installed your kontakt plugin and check vst plugins folder path in studio one settings.

try to load Kontakt Player first to make the vst scan, it should show in the vst list, then replace by patched.
i add this joke in the new ableton. when the previous version was showing kontakt but not the updated one.

No luck with either of these, guys. Thanks for the suggestion though.

EDIT: Out of desperation, I reinstalled Studio One and now everything seems to be working fine. I'd say this is resolved, but it's going to be annoying having to reinstall it every time something goes wrong.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem.
3 different Windows 10 Pro devices (PC, laptop and tablet) and different Studio One versions (4 and 5).
The latest Kontakt 6 portable version, which works for me, is 6.2.2.

I simply put the Kontakt 6 folder in my programs folder and add its VST sub folder in my VST folders of Studio One.
(The same way as I did for Kontakt 6.0.2 and 6.2.2).
I moved the 6.2.2 folder somewhere else (to prevent duplicate Kontakt versions).

When I start Studio One it says "Failed to scan Kontakt 6."
After restarting Studio One, it says: "Kontakt 6 x64 was ignored because it is blacklisted."
Then I resetted the black list and restarted Studio One, but it started again with the "Failed to scan Kontakt 6."

I also copied the Settings.ini from Kontakt 6.2.2 (from VST) to the Kontakt 6.6.0.
No chance to get it working :(
    I even re-installed Studio One.

P.S: I need it for some Guitar Library which doesn't accept Kontakt 6.2.2 because it's "too old".

    Any help will be apreciated!

Most likely Microsoft redistributable libraries missing. Start installing the most recent ones re-scan everytime you install a new one until it works. It doesn't hurt to install all of them from 2019 to 2012.

Happened to me lately with Acustica Audio plugins.

Shouldn't these tips help you. I would de-install Kontakt and install only one version namely the latest.

    https://benonistudio.com/how-to-get-native-instruments-plugins-to-work-in-presonus-studio-one/

Blacklist - Here’s what you need to do:

    1. Open Studio One Preferences and click the Locations icon.

    2. Select the VST Plug-ins tab.

    3. At the middle-left side of the window, you’ll see a check box (“tick box” if you’re not American) labeled “Scan at Startup.” Make sure this box is checked.

    4. Now click the button labeled “Reset Blacklist.

    5. Once you’ve done this, you should restart Studio One.

Studio One will then rescan your plug-ins and, providing you’ve fixed the problem with the plug-in in question, S1 should now load it properly and you should have access to it in your Instruments/FX tabs in the Browser.

Hi and thanks for your replies!

Yes, I did clearing the block list, but there is no change.
Also, Studio One analyzes the Kontakt 6 plugin for like 5 seconds until it "gives up".

I tried opening Kontakt.exe (indenpendtly of Studio One) and it did not work either!
Only a small dialog with a big fat red Cross which can be closed by clicking OK.

    C:\Program Files\Kontakt 6 v6.2.2 Portable\Kontakt\x64\Kontakt.exe - Gets opened!
    C:\Program Files\Kontakt 6 v6.6.0 Portable\Kontakt\x64\Kontakt.exe - cannot be opened!

I attached the screenshot which shows all C++ Redistributables and the error "message".

    Best regards

Download Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (All Versions)
    https://www.itechtics.com/microsoft...he_Latest_Microsoft_Visual_C_Redistributables

    Delete the " Portable Version " !

Your portable version belongs on a USB stick!

    What is portable software?
USB memory stick and laptop computer Portable software makes the USB stick an all-purpose tool Portable software is also called standalone software or stick-ware, among other things. The great advantage of portable software is that it normally does not have to be installed and can therefore also be used from a USB stick on any computer. The user can access his settings on every computer. For example, you can use the same program with your own preferences on your home computer, laptop and at work without having to adjust the settings three times.

Hi and thanks for your support.

Downlading all the Redistributables didn't help.
    However, I solved the problem!

I needed to run Kontakt.exe as Administrator (at least 1 time).
Then I also changed the permissions for the folder.
(After adding the libraries I could work as normal user again in my DAW).
Strangely, for Kontakt 6.0.2 and Kontakt 6.2.2 I didn't have to do that.
I know that normally the Library Manager needs Admin rights, but I was surprised that not even Kontakt 6 worked.

BEAT16: "if you had copied it to a USB stick, you wouldn't have had that problem."
    Omnislash7777: "you tell me!"
    :D

Thanks and best regards / Viele Grüße ;)
