    Edge isn't nearly as bad as IE (and thank fuck for that), not that I use it but these days none of the Windows features actually require IE and by extension Edge, say Windows Update Catalog and those things.

    I'm not defending MS here given their grievous past with browsers but what OS doesn't come with a bundled web browser these days? Alpine Linux?

    First user feedback: Cubase 11, Cubase SX 2.11, Wavelab 6, Addictive Drum 2, Wavelab 10.5 -> everything runs stable ...!

    has anyone tried to uninstall Edge yet? In win10 it broke everything when u did so. The problem is not that an OS comes with a browser preinstalled, the problem is that the services without the browser do no longer work and that is the case with win10.

    @wuzzle thanks for the link.

    And that's why I'm in no hurry to enable it :rofl:
    This is true. Every modern OS needs a browser-engine. You can even remove IExplorer (Edge in Win11) but you must leave the browser engine because several important programs might need it.
    Yep, and some other components of the same OS.

    That being said MSoft has a very nasty history of mixing their browser unnecessarily with other OS parts.

    It's like they're trying to almost force people to upgrade their machines if they want to use it. My main machine is fast and runs every app and plugin on the market and is less than 3 years old. It's pure DAW-based and is setup so it gives next to zero access to anything online other than a VPN. So Win 11 says no to compatibility. You have to wonder with a fast i7 and 64GB RAM and a grunty GPU and 20TB of HDD space and an nVme SSD boot what exactly it wants to do and does that is under the hood and hidden to say no.

    Maybe you have to contain security flaws for it to install :woot:

    P.S. I have TPM 2 onboard and enabled it as a test = same result. so there's something else they are not telling anyone that it changes without permission. I am not lowering the shutout modification security. I will wait for a smart person to disable the invasive technology.

    replace sources/appraiserres.dll from win10.iso to win11.iso

    TPM + Secure Boot = no system requirement

    These types of comments come from the lack of information. Do you think a browser extension will hide you from the world?

    Let's say you blocked everything in your browser. What about other apps? Don't you use any other apps that connect to the internet? There are much easier ways to track you down... This is the reality of the new world. Embrace it, or just say goodbye to the "normal" internet.
