    Windows can have android apps.
    Probably, more CPU friendly.
I don't know yet but I was really hoping that windows would incorporate AVB. I am now slightly sad.

Well, for what little I could watch from the constantly buffering stream I'm pretty neutral. I'm really interested in some under the hood changes really.

Looks like they're bringing in the window management from PowerToys which is very nice, but the functionality really is already there.

So looks like nothing new to distract me, and maybe, just maybe it's going to be a little bit smoother and lightweight that would be good.

We'll see, they're saying that it's a free upgrade and the betas should start rolling in to insiders shortly so no doubt we'll learn more in the coming months.

Yes, let's wait and see ...! But one thing is certain: Microsoft to end Windows 10 support on October 14th, 2025

True, but that's still 4 years in the future. I've never been an early adopter but neither a late one. I'll give it a year or so after launch so the most glaring issues get fixed and take it from there.

seems like microsoft are gonna fuck alot of people with the minimum requirements to be able to run 11, my pc is custom built a year ago and its not compatible to run 11, this TPM 2.0 shit is the main reason and im guessing unless your pc is only a few months old you will have to buy a pc or laptop with 11 installed already, im not gonna spend another £1800 to build another pc to run 11, also installing crack software could be an issue also, anyway got 4 years left of support with 10, see what happens after that.

It's truly becoming a convergence - the phone is becoming the PC and the PC is becoming the phone. Sometime in the future, it might well be only one thing you carry around and plugin to a virtual keyboard, virtual mouse and virtual monitor wherever you go and no more laptops or desktops. Twenty years ago, a Terabyte of HDD space filled a server room wall, now it can be held in your hand, so it's not unrealistic.

Well, the TPM might apply only to manufacturers who ship with Windows, but we don't know yet.

If it's a year old machine, I find it odd that it doesn't support TPM, is it enabled?

TPM2.0 spec is, what, 6 years old already?

I got the answer that my PC was not compatible with W11. Went into my BIOS and found out that TPM was disabled. Now I get an OK :) My PC was built in august 2017

They talked a lot and said nothing, I really don't like the new mid 2000's design they've made. I'll wait when it releases to learn more about what is actually new, maybe it's a better experience.

Based on current information, only for versions that follow the Modern Lifecycle Policy. Other versions with the Fixed Lifecycle Policy will get updates until 2029.

Similar here. My PC was built summer 2020, but I had to enable TPM in the BIOS before it would show as W11 compatible.

Machine with 2015 (last produced) BIOS. Not supported. Ah well, hated the UI anyhow.

My 2014 PC won't cut it but I was looking at relegating it to internet/back-up computer and getting a new powerhouse strictly for music.
Will start looking at systems in the fall once the os gets gets ironed out with a purchase date before Xmas, hopefully.
Depending on availability. That seems to be a big thing in these plague days :(

I'm using the leaked build since it was leaked. it needs a few performance optimizations in a few places (for example VEGAS will crash once in awhile) but other than that i like it more than 10 for sure. 12gb ram august 2017 laptop.

Can you hackerzzz elaborate. I don't have TPM (..may be AMD) but fTPM in BIOS, which either means f*ckTPM or firmwareTPM. It is now set to "Discrete", which should mean that it "Disables AMD CPU fTPM". I can set it to "Firmware TPM" which should mean that it "Enables AMD CPU fTPM... Maybe this is a fancy way to say OFF/ON...

I'm not going to install W11 just yet. But now I'm OCD wondering - should this be ON for W10?? Seems like and essential part of human existence! Like 4 Gigs of RAM - yeah, I get that.. 1024 KiB not being enough anymore. Why is this off by default?
How did I manage to survive 30 years with Win without this sht.. where are my pills?!? :guru:

Thank you in advance

Edit: its an "old" 5950x/ASUS Dark Hero PC.. yup should get a new one

I am not sure just how far into privacy that extends either but - People should really look up TPM, especially those who use the sister site a lot.
It's a whole new level for hackers . They will likely have to hack whatever files being installed into telling TPM they are safe.
So people who use cracked software, you should probably read up on it.

First of all. No. That's not how it works. For example, I built my PC in 2018 with Flagship Threadripper and Rog Zenith Extreme Motherboard. My motherboard is old and it still has a TPM Slot. All I have to do is buy a TPM Module which will cost 30 USD (If I buy the Asus one) if I don not have a firmware TPM by default.. Many motherboards DO HAVE TPM SLOTs. This is why they provide Manuals but as we all know, most producers and Musicians like us, usually don't bother about reading the manuals of the gears or software that we use. :excl:

Here is a page from my Motherboard's manual.
