Hi guys. Sooo I'm trying to finish writing a track for the AudioSexed album. Since I'm my own worst critic I'm still not sure if I can get it all ready and recorded in time, but I'm gonna do my best to sneak sth in before that bad boy HK slams the door.

Considering that there are some stuff I wanna use in the arrangement that I can't do myself, and that the album is meant to reflect this community I thought it would be cool to have some collaboration from other members on my track.

One thing that would be great is if somebody could lay down some really mean and freaky guitar solo parts, I'm thinking like Robert Fripp on Bowie's masterpiece 'Scary Monsters'
Also if someone here is, or is somehow connected to a female vocalist who has a good feeling for singing in English, rock or soul style, that would be friggin awesome

Not familiar with David Bowie stuff, I am more into Classic Rock and Metal. I would like to collaborate, provided the song manages to shake the tree of notes in my brain forest of imagination.

Just heard the solo from Scary Monsters. Tightly timed, most notes sound random, loosely connected to the key. Doable.

 

I think tater01 would be in for some guitar solos. Either wait until he comments or ask him nicely, I'm sure he would be happy to do it.

Still trying to knuckle a few more riffs for Frito. Did check out Scary monsters solo. Kinda like it a little for his randomness. I was feeling a little more Vernon Reid freakness. Might take a min to get something submitted though. I'm fat and lazy and most likely won't get it in on deadline though!

I guess I should've been a bit more clear that I didn't mean just the track 'Scary Monsters' but rather the style Fripp used on that whole album. Like you said Threadkiller, sth a bit random and loosely connected to the key.
And I don't mean that someone should try to directly imitate what Fripp does, it's just that I'm hearing sth along those lines. Some stuff that is a bit more twisted than you normally think of when someone says guitar solo. Best thing is of course to do sth that is 'you'.
I just figured I should provide some kinda musical example. It's hard to explain in a few words what I hear in my head, especially when I'm not using my own language.

Yeah, Vernon Reid could also be an example.
BTW if anyone wanna check the difference between the 80's and 90's, you rarely see it as clear as in these 2 videos (compare singer's clothing… and in 1st video don't miss old white guy in audience, low right corner @ 2:35… funny)
