I use aimp mobile, also in pc.

Today I was looking for an equalizer app, aimp had a flexible equalizer far better than any of the click bait music players in the play store, but I miss a pro equalizer or customizable stereo widening, or maybe other effects or plugins, I did search but internet is full of basic, full of ads players, I am not finding anything else.

Poweramp should tick off all your boxes...and it sounds fantastic.

On android I use Black Player for about 4 years and never leave it. But I think this one is too basic for what you are looking for.

Thanks, after looking for Poweramp I started to find many interesting players and plugins for Android

Thanks actually I have 2 Android phones one with audiofx.so and the nother without. Aimp is a very good music player but after I started to use Flac and also playing a lot with high quality ambisonic sounds my ears now are spoiled, overindulged and I can listen the chop downs at 16khz and many EQ problems at high frequencies, also becasue ambisonic awareness I feel that the tree not let me listen the forest, I feel that half of the music that I listen is so in front and I wish I could move it a bit far (while using headphones) so I can get not just the lead instrument or vocal in detail but the whole thing more as ambience.

That is the exactly the problem that I am trying to fix, before I used to enjoy 128 .mp3 .m4a.

Also I was comparing progressive rock originals and remastered versions by Steven Wilson it's so odd that bad EQ inclusive gave me headaches :dunno::guru:

Here's another vote for Poweramp on Android and foobar2000 on PC. I love them both.

I won't say poweramp is bad or anything but that player got his popularity back in the early days of Android being capable to play big assortment of audio formats by itself and having pre amp and eq that made the poor volume on headphones of the early Android phones decent also the drm (copy protection of the app) make it very wanted app very very overrated app Neutron player is way better option then poweramp for free nothing beats Aimp JetAudio plus is very interesting with tons of audio fx build in bongiovi acoustics etc. For those that wonder what OpenSL does on Android device well it is a low latency audio driver also audiofx.so is not on his audio path (oem manufacturer audio effects) player capable of selecting different audio like Aimp (free) or Neutron (paid) is what you want to listen your music not just will get you very high audio output on the headphones but the sound is more clear and punchy try this on Samsung devices and hear the difference

If you want something free, then go for foobar(Limiter, Equalizer, Meier-Crossfeed).

But, if you're willing to pay(5.99), den Neutron Music Player is one of the best that I saw so far.
It's still in development since 2011, the last update was on 2021.05.29!

There is an evaluation version that you can test for 5 days, I know, not much but, it's enough to get an overview(And A Feeling Sound Wise).

I use VLC, same as what I use on PC. It has an EQ in it, but I'm not sure if it will be fancy enough for your needs. :)

I use VLC for media in PC or Phone, or for things that AIMP can't do as ftp or http audio streams, but what I dislike from VLC is that the interface is so clunky, AIMP have so good usability or I just get so used to it, but for sure VLC should have much more new and advanced features that anything else.

When tweaking VLC I have the same feeling as for ffmpeg to convert media/audio so many settings or stuff I have no idea about.

    Im using this since v2.3
The best thing and the most important thing Im using it because it uses the picture which you put into the folder for the whole folder
SO I make the cover art in Photoshop and for every folder Ill have 1 different picture.

I didn't care about pictures until some staple audio app in my phone asked me to download the album art automatically, now I really care about, I prefer to have my audio files with the full metadata and albumart, it's so useful when you are starving for the feeling of that special song lol
It's so easy to find by image instead of reading.
I didn't made any customized albumart but sometimes selecting from options, there are many autotags apps, I used many but I didn't stick to any yet.

I was looking for an app that get the equivalent of a hash or certain melody or song to then updated it from internet, but I always find problems with the music that I listen, 90% Asian songs, any app without exception can't past the test detecting Yoko Kanno, an amazing Japanese composer, producer, with a mesmerizing discography.

Black Player EX (Paid app) was my go to because of looks and customizations. Now I only use VLC cause it can play audio and video formats.

Now I always try to use and support Open Source projects.

I use Aimp on my PC-for fast playing. I am using MusicBee for my library management and it can sync to my phone's music folders (but it takes a little setting up).
For my phone I love PowerAmp! One of the very few things i have paid for...
