I guess it's the difference between working and non-working musicians, my friend.
Imo, AudioSex has nothing to do with k'd software per se. Strange u think that.

Ye ye ppl keep saying that, don't be so smug. There's a very direct link from https://audioz.download/ to here. None of you would be here if it wasn't for warez. This is the forum of a scamming site. You can't post warez links HERE, but you can over there. So that makes a lot of sense ;)

Haha. For the last time: personally, I found this site approx 7 years, via Google, when I asked 'the oracle' about some technical question I had.
    And Bingo! AudioSex.
Never knew, or would have been bothered, about AZ. The fact there is a link on the homepage of AZ to here is only useful if one is ON AZ in the first place! Ya dig?!
Btw, what makes your brain decide that I am being smug?
And where do you get off telling me what g'wan?
Yeahyeah. ppl keep saying that. don't be so narrow-minded.
Loooads of great threads here about mixing, music theory, blah, blah, blah...
    That's how I got here.

I have "tried" sooo many Kontakt libraries that sounded good (or at least decent,) in a demo track and looked good on paper but were just plain garbage when I tried using them to create something--sub-par samples, lack of options (pedal noise/reverb/etc...,) poorly truncated sounds, etc., etc., and that's not even counting piano libraries. Hell, if I had bought every piano library that I tried and then deleted out of utter frustration, I'd be in crippling debt. :suicide:
Audio packs are the same--the demo sounds good but when you get, say, the drums into your 16 they sound like wet bread being thrown against a wall. Or, another issue I've found is that the demo sounds good, but the stems were mixed in a fashion that prioritized the overall mix, not the individual instruments (feel free to start a separate thread arguing the Pros & Cons of both, ) making them largely useless as per repurposing.

I could write a dissertation on why I agree with "Try Before You Buy," but honestly, I have music to making/working on.

    Selah.

if i was a developer i would release my own cracks, because piracy is illegal, so whoever uses it would be in the wrong, not me. but if i could do well in the underground with my product, then it would find its way to a larger audience who are looking for the particular value or quality my product provides, and if there are any ethical people out there, my product would find it's way to more of them. Let's say 1 in 100 plugin users buy software, if I could make a big enough splash in terms of system installs, then an increasing percentage of those product installs should result in a purchase. alternatively, if no one likes the software, or if no one can demo it, or if there's no hype about it, or any other forms of guerilla marketing, then the product dies in obscurity. in short, a company who does not view the warez scene as a potential guerilla marketing tool, then they are probably not the sharpest pencil in the box. but at the end of the day, the product has to do something that gives the user a dopamine hit.

Around 200 years ago if anyone wishes to check their history, stealing a loaf of bread could get you hanged or deported to work your life out in Australia as a convict. Life sentence stuff. One thing about it though, it made most people think twice first. So yes they should be taken to task. It's more than theft it is con-artistry, a despicable parasitic trait. While draconian by today's standards, it's like putting locks on doors, they keep honest people out.

On a lighter note, a German, a Russian, an Englishman and a Frenchman fly to Australia. At customs and immigration, they are stopped and told they did not sign the part which asked if they had any prior criminal convictions. The Englisman then asks "What? Do you still have to be a convict to get into Australia?" :)

If they are caught selling pirated software there is a good chance that they'll be caught and stopped, but the biggest ripoff sellers on ebay are the listings that sell for example a single guitar pickup spring for $1.00 and want $85.00 for shipping and handling these real criminal thieves should be stopped, but it's ebay that gets the largest share of this theft so they don't give a damn about honesty. I managed a couple of times to get in touch with actual sellers and they explained that it was ebay that forced them and pushed them to charge the exhorbitantly high S&H fees and that ebay kept most of it. I never buy from ebay anymore, I now use other sources where I can deal direct with the sellers and pay honest S&H or postal fees.
