3 x Bus FX • Bus FORCE - a powerful original parallel processor with 4 distinct modules: Filter, EQ, Compressor, and Saturation. Your new go-to mixing plugin. • Comp DIODE-609 - Based on the iconic NeveTM stereo compressor and limiter with a distinctly characterful crunchy response - great for drums. • EQ SITRAL-295 - A classic stereo EQ with gentle musical curves and warm transistor feel, based on the coveted ‘70s SiemensTM broadcast console.

Thank you for the review Udi. Although these are nice additions, the install size & hundreds/thousands of files on a Windows based system can introduce havoc for reads & writes over time (fragmentation). Why is it they do not use monolithic files for graphics & samples?

The EQ is emulating the same model as the Soundtoys Sie-Q, but with more flexible interface and more bands, right?

Going to download the demo and get a hands on, personal take on these plugins. The 609 looks the most promising for to me for now.
Again thank you for the excellent review!

Although I agree with you that this is a shitty approach per se : Do you store your Plugins on a HDD? If no what problem do you see? There is nothing like wreaking havoc due to fragmentation on an SSD. It could not care less about it in fact.

The problem is not HDD vs SSD. It is the many thousands of file for one plugin. Installed the demos for the Comp Diode 609 & the EQ Sitral 295.

Almost 9,000 files for one & almost 28,000 for the other. Then there is the system overhead per plugin compared to other notable brands offering high quality plugins.

Even the Softube Chandler Limited plugins use less system resources (0.02% vs 0.30%).

Similar reason why I no longer use Waves plugins. The Waves wrapper system should have been done away with by now. This would more than likely improve system performance & stability. No reason they cannot run natively other than Waves, need to be proprietary.

Thanks for the review. But I’ve promised myself not to use more third party plugins unless there is an inescapable need, and that doesn’t happen. The urge is there but it gets under control after a bit of simple reasoning lol

Yes, as I said, I agree with you that it is a shitty approach from the beginning. But fragmentation, which you mentioned in your original answer, is not the problem, except you use a HDD, which you really should not do for your programs in 2021.

You are on the side of the crooked programmers who turned all current software into bloated shit. They are writing NOT code, but a piece of SHIT.

Your concern, for my concern, over how many files a plugin uses is off topic but, here we go.

Fragmentation occurs with all storage medium. With HHDs data is spread across one or more platters. With SSDs, it is cells. With memory, it is cells.

To close. I like Apple technology. Not the way they want or allow you to use that technology.

With Arturia. I like their plugins. Not the way they have chosen to package them.
