Don't quote me on this but I think that a lot of DAWs struggle with this but probably not those who also produce the interface like Avid PT, UAD Luna, Presonus S1, at least that would make logical sense because if they don't know how their interfaces work then who does :)

never noticed after all these years. actual a better way would be to turn gain of utility down, bcs filters are different in ableton and bitwig.
anyway i wonder if the same test result will still come up by today?

for me it only happened with ABL2, that the pattern was out of sync? for no reason?! but everything else was in sync.

(how the hell do I attach images?! I don't think I have before!)
In case I don't figure it out, with no plugin in between the filters, there's no audible noise(At least to me) but Ableton's meter and Span do show some readings. The gain increases by adding more plugins in between(I used the T-racks Black comp)

Also, I didn't change the "response" timing for Span, so you don't see anything on the frequency spectrum(or so is my assumption) when there's no additional plugin but you DO see a reading on Ableton's spectrum and the gain meter for the track

Can't figure out how to insert it so here's a link!

the lil residue comes from the LP filtering not everything out.
better idea could be a BP, but i guess the behaviour is already fixed.
And i guess bitwigs filters are maybe different?
actual we would need to use the same filters?

    thanks for doing the test!

Nope, it's been a while since I fully committed to the Live train, and with my setup being what it is, if something "works" I'm running with it blindly XD
Ahhokay that would make sense. Cool!

it's pretty silly though. it's just an offset of the time from midi msg out from the daw to the time the audio input crosses a threshold?
They have it well done in Logic.

no they have to know that the interfaces aren't lying to them so the roundabout latency has to be 100% correct or else you get phasing

Only asked because Bitwig developed by a team that came from Ableton. Thus the similar design & workflow. Some past Ableton users prefer Bitwig over Ableton.

I would say improved workflow design and Hugely improved (the best) implementation of stock modulators, effects and instruments system.

okay i just a half a 4bar loop delay using Melodyne, the audio track was set to begin at 1, but it start at ~1,5.

but in the actual chain i found no problem, its maybe just a visual thing?
ableton becomes here extremly slow when i load 5-6 instances of ABL2, it does stuff simply slower. maybe it is fixed in ABL3? i can try that.

everything else is fine, even im paranoid now and think ableton is out of sync

No wonder they look so similar! Sounds interesting, I'll be sure to check it out. Thank you!
