EDM House Music Kick Drums.

    One thing to try, though myself I find it pretty tricky is to layer/crossfade kicks.

    For instance (a contrived example), get a nice punchy 909 kik for the transient, then cut the transient out of a 808 bd and tune that to your track. Compress/process them together. Fiddly but it sometimes works.

    You dont really have use a compressor todo that.
    Its more important to EQ each layer right, set the crossfade right also what could help is move different layers a few ms.
    Change the pitch of each layer could also help alot.

    For how loud that kick example is it doesn't distort in my car, works in the track it's in, and that is the main thing. I think it's a great punchy kick. If you want to post your example so we can compare I'm interested to hear it.

    Yea I'm not a fan of cross fading kicks.
