Hi lets me first introduce myself ,im a brazilian tracking ,mixing and mastering, engineer ,.
i lost mi job in a small studio due to covid since brazil is worst place to be right now ,
the stuidio whent broke .im without work since them, government gives 25 dollars for the uninployed.
so to pay the bills im working as ifood deliver boy for part time.
So i dont want to give up so easily ,i need to keep doing what i like and know , and give back to community that helped me so much .
I'm using nebula sand 3 for mix and scarlet 4 for mastering eq ,and a focusrite scarlett and octopre for summing.
So im doing this free jobs for now and later if you guys appreciate my work i will set up a donate button.
Tracks sent need a high quality reference and a rough mix.
since i i can only work at 3 tracks a time i ask for patience.
If you worried about me stealing the tracks i recomend upload the rough mix to soundcloud and youtube first before send me the steams

Im the guy offerin mix and mastering for since the studio i used to work closed.
i understand that somo people are afraid to get their track stolem , so i advice to upload first a rough mix to youtube or soundcloud , , all that i want is to my take the rust off my mixing ang mastering skills.
Again just want to help the community tha give me so much.
And i despise people that stole tracks ,i already got one, i wish i have done my own advice an sue the bastard at the time.

The original top mix the vocals sound more fuller and with air then your mix?
At 1.08. you've made the vocal sound nasal.
Also original sounds more wide, fuller, and nicer air in the highs.
I'm only learning mixing but prefer the original.

Ijust did a mix for a tribute , did not master a track ,just a 2 hours mix .

 

I am referring to the multitrack mix you posted with before and after not the tribute.

i have downloaded the original mix, i do prefer it to the second mix, with a few touchs here and there, plus a bit more gain on the drums buss it might be a very solid nice mix.

messed around a bit with it, and the way the vocals sits in the mix it is way better, my only problem are the guitars too mush 2k...

might post after i get some sleep and give it a second listen with a clear mind.

But if you still don't understand. I am just referring to the before mix you posted and then the after mix you posted and the difference between them.

 

I agree that the original is better.

I can't tell if he's genuinely misunderstanding you or just dodging honest feedback. If this is how he communicates with clients, it's not a very good look.

 

Thats exactly what mastering does ,little sparkle in the highs some height , some glue ,some stereo enhancing ,make it louder ,fix some minor problems ,
if its not doable in mastering i have no problem in making a recal of the mix .
an thaks for your opinion ,thats is good for for a engineer at any level .

 

That kind of commentary is not helpfull at all its jus mean ,just say that my work is just worthless ,since i used to work at a studio as mix engineer but it just went out bussiness due to covid.
Lets be nice here an give some constructive criticism .

 

Yes for me, those things are done mostly in the mix. If just mixing. You should be able to put a limiter on it just to bring it to a "competitive" volume, and give that to the client as a pre master so they are able to judge how it will sound mastered.
I wouldn't be happy as a mastering engineer trying to fix what you had done to that vocal.

 

Recalls are mostrly a rule than an exception ,problemsl ike that can be fixed ,just comunnication and its done.
