I am hobbiest person interested in music to spend time and not professional usage. During recent long silent period I updated my OS to latest Bigsur and noticed my earlier 5.6 and 6.2.1 not working properly to add library from internal another drive.

The problem is I am able to add library and can see wallpaper of it but after close software and open it again can not see added libraries anymore. I first thought this is incompatibility of my outdated Contact version on Bigsur.

Could you please advice a version which works on non M1 hardware? It will be highly appreciated for your advices.

Why do you want to run Big Sur or even Catalina as your OS?

Something you will notice, is most Mac OS based studios consistently run older MacOS versions to not deal with all the new compatibility issues each time a new OS is released.

Well you may be right but I am here to learn a stable version of Kontakt can run on Bigsur. What I learn during two days after many different attempt and fails on versions. I had result after paying a person 20euro and he installed on my desktop Kontakt 5.6.0 Unlocked and 6.4.2 by Remote Desktop Access.

I wish I could get the reply that I would needed to install Native Access enabling me to see my libraries. That was only point that I did not do all time.

(it is a free script).

 

Those scripts are great, and allow you to add libraries without using Kontakt 5.6. Works fine on Big Sur, both Intel and M1.

 

this part sounds like a bad idea. no-one should charge you for warez. ever. and giving someone like that Remote Anything Access is probably just as bad. just saying.

No sure, I did not pay 20bucks for Warez software. I paid it to someone to figure out my problem after spent many hours on it and could not solve stupid issue by myself. But around us there are such people; do business for money or advisors before giving you an useful reply.

 

So far under Big Sur I've been unsuccessful at installing most Kontakt librairies "the way it used to work" just like on Mojave/Catalina with 5.6.0

But I had no choice because I have a M1 so... I guess I'll have to wait until there's a fix

Has anyone found a working version of Kontakt 5.6.0 standalone for M1/Big Sur? Most of the librairies won't show later in Kontakt 6 in Ableton.

I got the same error when adding ascend modern grand via kitty script. anyone knows how to solve this?

 

You can uninstall Kontakt 5 and just use Kontakt 6 plus Kitty Scripts. I am on a Hackintosh running BigSur, and everything works perfectly.

 

i think there are libs that can't be added at the moment via kitty script and only k6. i ran into some today. where you need a nicnt. iam on big sur too. Broken wurli by SC, Ascend Grand

 

just had the "/var/tmp/kontaktLibraryHints.xml:1: parser error : Document is empty" error occuring on a friends computer, does anyone know how to solve this?
i checked and the user has full read/write permission in /var/tmp

this happens both when trying to remove a library or add library via KiTTY scripts, on Catalina Intel

Same problem here Edit: kontakt 6.7.1 m1 Monterey, keepforest evolution devastator full edition. Used Fred Bloggs nicnt generator and then kitty add lib method.
