How about using Serum? I've used it more for some interesting snares actually, but kicks are not difficult either. Maybe not as fast as you want though.

The guy who made this tutorial makes psytrance stuff, I think you will find it pretty applicable to what you want. Most likely with a plugin you already have.

you could probably add FAW Sublab and Rob Papen SubBoomBass to the list.

There is also a similar way in Vital.
You may want to check the sounds at 3:40. :winker:

FAW Sublab is the one I use, but then again I'm just a newbie when it comes to electronic music so there is probably other ones that are better suited to your needs!

I was just dicking about with a tune and thought Sonic Charge's Microtonic would probably fit the bill exactly.

I know it's more than just a kick synth but nothing stopping using just one voice, right?

okay µ-tonic wins this. you can get easily lots of the perc stuff i want, once you figured out how to shut it up and let it only output on midi input.

Veering off topic here, but don't discount the sequencer just yet. There's a MIDI drag'n'drop functionality, so just drag it to a track or a clip slot, it'll automatically disable the internal sequencer at the same time. The clever bit is that it also renders the fills you've set up so you can get nice drilly sounds which would be impossible to play and painful to do using piano roll.

While I wouldn't use this just for kicks (no pun intended), Maschine 2's various kick models are actually quite nice (the other drums as well). You do need to invest some time to learn it, but you can usually find a usable kick to suit a lot of tunes.

Personally dig GuDa Audio KickR, it's like giant sweet spot, quick and easy to get something usable out of it.

created the perfect zap with the TD-3 MO. Thats actual from the envelopes clicking, this overdriven and some filter FM added.
