That's right. I think that no one is waiting for a new virtual analog synth. There are already too many out there and on average they all sound the same if you ask me. The development of virtual synthesis has come to an end imho!!

I remember back in the day, before I truly got into synthesis, I would just load different Tone2 plugs in front of my fx chains and scroll through presets. They did all seem to have the same gnarly HP tone. I won't lie, it was fun but a little redundant.
I loaded some of their stuff again when I got onto OSX and shook my head at my younger self.
I'm too scared to load anything of theirs on this new Windows rig.

This seems to be a new version of the Firebird, and I liked that back in the days... I don't think they sound all the same, but they share a certain character. Maybe because this psychoacoustics.... thing. I mostly use them for layering other synths.

I agree, they have a tendency to sound similar.

Tone2 synths are perhaps the greatest sounding and most beautiful looking virtual synthesizers ever made. I have used them exclusively in all my chart topping hits for the last 15 years and will continue to do so until the day that I die...Markus...Markus, are you there? I did everything that you asked of me...please let me out, please...PLEASE!!!

My question is, does it still have the copy protection bullshit that the earlier synths had, or did he stay true to his promise to remove them? Would be interesting to hear a cracker's opinion on it. This synth looks interesting and I'd actually love to buy it but despite the apologies of the developer I have a hard time trusting him (although I want to).

I'm going to keep yawning until they emulate a Casio on a Plastic Beach.

personally, i'd give the guy a chance, he apologized and said that he won't do it anymore. with that said, it doesn't hurt to check, which is why i was curious if someone had taken a look at the synth yet.
