so i've been watching a couple of vids on youtube saying that if you put 1 milisecond delay and increase it fast (from my understanding) it causes tape stop effect

    1:52

i tried doing this with a Readelay and some JS delay plugins but i can't get it to work..i don't think it does anything

can you please confirm? i haven't tested with other delay plugins yet...

This will only work with some tape or analog style delays

yes but in generally I haven't used a delay plugin that doesn't do this

just make sure the time is a its shortest no sync just time in ms and make sure the dry/wet is 100% and then just increase the time

It depends on what you need to accomplish. If your goal is tape stop effect, on Reaper we have pitch envelopes and also Reapitch for that kind of stuff. Possibly the video is using delays because Live doesn't have a stock real time pitch shifter, or just to obtain a creative granular effect.

i think the delay effect sounds more natural....as per ur link.....reapitch doesn't sound good to me when doing that

but on the other hand now i'm checking.....increasing the pitch to 24 range as per video link by rEmaker earlier it does make a difference, so maybe its the same, will have to try more

also you can do it by using the master track playrate envelope, it does the job very well, but it is for the entire project, so if you put a track into a sub project, you can use that sub project to do the master playrate automation without affecting other tracks.
