ASIO in reaper - realtek on windows i think

    so i have ASIO selected in reaper

    and sometimes when i want to hear youtube while having reaper open...sound does not work in youtube....

    i think i have realtek in windows i don't know if that affects it?

    any info? thanks

    i'm not sure, but on the audio settings you would be able to choose to not having the asio driver as exclusive to reaper... otherwise, search the fl asio which allows you to use multiple audio sources

    FL ASIO works wonderful and it does by default route multiple audio streams through.
    eg make music in your DAW and watching a movie with sound on the ASIO device.

    Could be you have selected that Audio rights are granted exclusively to the program. there is an option in windows 7-windows 10, i dont know right from the button of my heart, just google. But this could also be the reason.

    Windows 10:
    1. On the Taskbar, right-click the Speaker icon & select Sounds
    2. Select the Playback tab & dbl-click the default device (has green check mark)
    3. Select the Advanced tab & uncheck the Exclusive Mode options

    This allows all apps producing sound to be heard. Latency will take a hit with each added audio stream (program/app).
