Hello, I'm new to the forum but I've been producing for a few years now and I recently discovered (and fell in love) with VPS Avenger. I really like the queality of the sounds, and the ability to play around with and dissect sequences from different genres. Ironically, I mainly use this VST to learn about how certain sounds and patterns are created.

Any other users that like this plugin? What are your favorite expansions? What do you mainly use this VST for?

I personally love the Synthwave expansion, I can't wait to get my hands on Synthwave II.

    Nice to meet you all.

I go for this synth when I need something special, just browsing through expansions and pick something that fits
it has a lot of amazing sounds for sure, it's kind of Nexus with under-the-hood tweaking, I really like this instrument
and it really is an instrument (not only a synth), the included not-synthetic sounds such as strings or pianos (even drums) are so fucking cool, it feels like you can do a whole track with Avenger only, love it!
sometimes it freezes my daw though xD

Welcome to the forum man, great bunch of people here. Many members tried to help me out of a hole recently with tons of great input & advice.

Personally I like Parawave Rapid over VPS Avenger but that's just me. Avenger is still a very capable synth so I can still see the appeal. Rapid has a synthwave expansion too I believe but that isn't my department as I make the oppsite of Synthwave.

Nice to meet you! I personally LOVE this synth! It is probably one of the best designed vst's. I like to create my own sounds with it.
    All expansion are cool. Enjoy!!!

I initially liked it but, maybe haven't given it enough of a chance. I can usually get what I want from Falcon or Serum. Same with Pigments.

Yes, it is same mind that create the VPS and Nexus... I think Avenger is best like Nexus... I like the mind of Manuel Schleis in the creation of presets ecc..

I've tried it before, but it wasn't a perfect match for me. I felt like it didn't run as fast as I wished.

Thing with these multilayer plugls like Avenger (rapid, omni) is that it allows for a lot. But the simple fact that it can do alot, doesn't mean it is also useful. I layer my stuff inside the synth but also inside the daw. Instead of endlessly tweaking that microscopic mod matrix to get a sound from a single instance, I'll waaaaay faster achieve the same result doing a daw stack with multiple synths, I can use multiple fx (which some are not in avenger) and so on.

Basically Avenger is the solution for a problem that does not exist for the music producer. But it solves a huge problem for the dev: he can make shinier preset packs, he can make complex single-key sequences, the kids LOVE THEM!
Instead of him doing what I do in my daw and then multisampling into avenger, he can now do the same inside the synth. It takes a lot of time - he has the time, because he just makes sound design. I don't have time for that shit because I make music. So I rarely go in building complex presets. This is why Diva/Serum are "better" than Avenger for music producers: they are simple enough to make sounds fast, yet complex enough to make unique timbres. The tutorial guys, sound designers, procrastinators etc. will all awe at Avenger. Know your tools :)

Ehh, I love it and it's honestly my primary synth tool. I have other tools like Nexus, Omnisphere, and some 'genre-specific' synths like Diva for when I really need an authentic analogue sound. But Avenger has that commercial sound and covers so much ground, it just has incredible value to me imo.

The problem with it is that the the 1.4.0 that's "available" crashes a lot. I also owned the legit version and the authentication process (at least, before it returned to keyfile's just now) was a PITA. There's no question how overly expensive the expansions are either. A single Avenger expansion is the price of a whole soft-synth.

These are problems though really with the company and not really the synth itself. The synth itself, when it's working, is absolute top-tier. I'm waiting for 1.8.0 to "arrive" around these parts haha.
