    Brainworx bx_limiter True Peak

The first true peak limiter you will love listening to
bx_limiter TP (True Peak) from Brainworx is a completely new design, crafted to avoid the shortcomings of existing true peak limiters. Use it to confidently hit your loudness targets without leaving behind any distortion-inducing inter-sample peaks, and without compromising on the sound quality of your masters.

Designed from the ground up to be the ideal true peak limiter
Until now, most digital limiters that include a true peak mode have simply added it on as an afterthought. This has left a lot to be desired, with users complaining about unstable low end, compromised stereo imaging, harsh artifacts, and smeared transients. But with the bx_limiter TP, Brainworx has taken a new approach, designing the TP algorithm from scratch to make it perform and sound better than other digital limiters - while also eliminating troublesome inter-sample peaks for even cleaner results.

    Price: $249.99 (Regular $299,99)
    More info here

    UPDATE
Use voucher code TRUEPEAK-INTRO-14999 at the checkout to get it for $149.99 USD until May 10th, 2021.

Just bought it . Really great limiter I could push it hard with out squashing the mix or going into distortion territory . I ended up with a offer for $129 and with my $25 voucher ended up paying £96 . And the nice guys at plugin alliance gave me a lindell channel X license for free because of owning 7x-500, pex-500 , 6x-500. All I had to do was send support a message .

I wrote to support (upgrades department) and asked if it was correct what I read on Facebook group that if I own those plugs I can get channel x for free . Waited a day and this morning got a email saying a license has been added to my account .

Tried the demo and my Oxford Sonnox Inflator/Limiter still sounds better. Nice try Dirk.

Just log in to your account and open new support ticket. Tel them you have registered licenses for 7x-500, pex-500 , 6x-500 and after they check you'll get this:

It sounded clean to me didn’t squash the mix down and could be pushed hard like the fabfilter l2 . Didn’t distort at all when pushing to -6rms . And the xl button pushes even further without distorting . I found it didn’t squash the drums or the bass flat at all . I think it’s a great limiter and will be a good companion to the fabfilter L2

It sounds like the highs open up more on the bx Limiter. It also seems to add more clarity to a mix and it handles low end better than the Weiss MM.

Side note, I love the MM but compared to the bx Limiter TP, I'd easily choose the Limiter TP as it sounds much cleaner to me.

Hi, do you find Fabfilter Pro-L 2 distorts at -6rms or distorts easier then the Brainworx bx_limiter True Peak?

Make 2 tracks in your DAW. Put the same audio material in both...perfect aligned. On one track, insert the limiter who want to test it. Set the treshold at -3 db gain reduction. Invert the phase on one track. Match the levels...now you can hear the "distortion" introduced by that limiter.

So how did you know, it was fabfilter that was distorting? What you did was just a null test to hear the difference between the two. I tested it with the Oxford limiter and fabfilter and they both clearly perform better than this cute interface, atleast to my ears. No null test, just driving it really hard. Again, how did you conclude that it was fabfilter that was distorting?

Spent a bit more time with it today on a mastering project . The one thing I did notice was that the true peak meter had different measurements to spl Hawkeye , mastering the mix levels , metric ab , klanghelm vu meter all had different readings of measurement . I did test it against izotope maximizer and found it could be pushed further and sounded cleaner . I tested it with fabfilter L2 today on a project I’ve already mastered and using the two limiters together and was able to achieve a 1.2dB higher in level with the limiters combined and boosting a couple of dB on each with a little help of the xl saturation . Saved putting the strain all on one limiter . The mix didn’t sound crushed or squashed at all . But each to there own in beginning I thought it would replace the fabfilter but the two work well together .

It sounds good, but it's not much different from other recent limters such as TDR Limiter, Toneboosters Barricade, Fabfilter Pro-L2 and surprise...Soundspot Velo2.
