Yeah but I write about this here not without a reason.
I mention this everything intentionally because money will be helpful for example at this stage.

I have emailed MysteryIslands earlier today to see if they want to jump on board and get there VirusHC editor working with the emulator, still waiting for a reply from them. People would obviously have to purchase it from them if they agreed to it but it will save us valuable time. We dont have any time at the min to be designing GUIs as its full steam ahead with the ROM side of things and they already have most of the code implemented to connect it up to the emulator I guess :)

Even better than buying 3D models. You will have ready to go skins.

Make Cooperation with Mystery Islands Music like Softube maded with Empirical labs

but don't take as an example this how they create their GUIs. Softube sucks with GUIs

I mean the whole project we are doing is open source, so anybody can take the code and do what they like with it :)
If you know anybody whos happy to spend some time writing a GUI for it then they can feel free to do so,
We can pass them the relevant information to get the emulator working with the GUI.

We still arent sure how much of a hit it will have on CPU yet once its running full steam. It could be absolutley terrible!
Then maybe we will have to look into having it run on some sort of external USB device?
    Only time will tell :)

I am retarded about programming stuff. Can You tell me and others few more details about it?
I mean You mention that emulator currently running at 50Mhz.
So it was 50Mhz for one DSP. Is it means that Nord Lead 3 which using 6 x DSP it will be using 300Mhz?
I feel that I'm not understand this correctly.

The emulator is running at 68 MHz now which caused one core in an i7 4790K to max out at 4GHz, we need to get the emulator running at 120MHz not 68, so the code is constantly being optimised to try and make it run faster and use less CPU

The MHz is climbing daily with each optimisation :)

Maybe they take time to think about the legal side before giving reply. This tool need to be announced like it was make for help owners of those synths models that have there synths in repair or that their computer OS not support the synth anymore. And after the release you announce someone success to unlocked/ hack your tool to use it without owning those synths.

Also, beware about making GUI clones of synths that already exist. I don't think that's very legal, and I don't think there are any precedents (besides licensed emulations of another plugins)

However, if anyone wants to do anything on their own style or with a new layout... that'd be good.

    Just in case.

Now I understand even less. I'm fucking retarded :hahaha:

I though that I have PC with 2,4Ghz CPU 1 core so my CPU have power of 2400Mhz right? Right :hifive:
Emulator using 50Mhz for one DSP so to run for example Nord Lead 3 which using 6 x DSP it needs 300Mhz.
So it will take from my CPU 300Mhz for 1 istance of Nord Lead 3.
So I can have max 7 instances of Nord Lead 3 because if it wil be more my DAW will start to glitch and my PC will explode.
I though that less Mhz = Better

    I don't understand :rofl::rofl::rofl:

7 instances on a single core? That's what I call optimism.

    7 x 300Mhz = 2100Mhz
So it will be eating 2100Mhz from my 2400Mhz. 300Mhz rest for Windows and DAW.
It will be working. Trust me I'm the engineer :hahaha:

    Virus C: DSP56362 @ 120 MHz

The DSP in the Virus C runs at 120MHz, so we need our emulator to match that in power, so we keep having to optimise it to try and make it faster to meet that speed

Ok. So Emulator needs to reach 120Mhz to run.
Without reaching 120Mhz it will not run.
I understand now I think :bleh:
Tell me the last thing if You know.
It will be possible to open this VST in Resource Hacker and replace bitmaps?
Not in every vst there are bitmaps on visible level reachable for Resource Hacker.

People can create skins only right now on the development stage?
Or this will be possible later after releasing?

We havent got to that stage yet for me to even tell you :)
But if the whole project is open source I guess the GUI will be also depending on who designs it
But lets see if thing go to plan first :) we could reach some sort of hurdle that we might not be able to overcome (hopefully not)

That'd be supposing it uses bitmaps.
Anyways, it's open source so you wouldn't need to do anything like that.

Yeah. Right. Open Source. Everything will be availible in the repository.
    I forget about it

Wish you the best with that! I know they intend at some point in the long-term future to make it so their editors are "plugins" where you can leave the hardware off at the expense of CPU. It's their call, but it's not impossible they would be interested in this considering they similarly wanted to make resources for old-school synths that are being left behind in the dust. Many of the synths this project is attempting to make plugins for already have MysteryIsland editors as we speak, with further more being planned down the line.

    Crossing my fingers!

Guys please... let me clarify this:
FUCK OFF THE GUI AT THIS STAGE

They need to make the DSP code working with a ROM. Until the milestone, the emulation can load a preset and make (more or less) the same sound like the hardware, an eye pleasent GUI is not necessary.

Programmist do their jobs and graphicians do their jobs too simultaneously.
How You imagine soft without a gui?
Why You tell me that I'm must fuck off from the gui?!
And emulator will be 1:1 with original. There will be not more or less.
    Or maybe I misunderstood something?
