    fuck google and use DeepL
They are german (i think) and use Ai to get realistic translations like this:

    gipa1727:
"i read somewhere that martin gore to make a depeche album he buys machines on ebay and tries them out -- i got this from a magazine when they made Sound of the universe --https://www.abc.es/cultura/abci-momento-seguimos-pero-no-desearia-llegar-limite-rolling-200904200300-92288242887_noticia.html?ref=https:%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F

In our early career we used a lot of analogue gear and we've always used it. Martin has an eBay addiction and buys synthesizers, guitar pedals.... Boxes of that stuff come into the studio all the time. They have a totally different sound to digital synths. We use them a lot on the album, but their sound is not retro but in general quite modern.

    I just got my moogs.
I still love the idea of the "infinite" possibilities with ITB VST/VSTi but oh man, do these analogue simple (stupid) circuit things sound good.

Try adding some Nebula juice to your VSTi synths. I have vintage Korg & Roland hardware, and I rarely use them these days.

This is a good channel for comparing hardware & software synths:

@Zenarcist idk there is something raw about Hardware, which just is not there in software. Its probably aliasing you get, which is aliasing free in in the soft world?

    But yeah sounds amazing.

I still have to give Rolands CV D50 a deep dive. Wondering if i can create such nice stuff like in the video?

    uiiii

I use Nebula preamp with 3-band EQ on VSTi for non-linear effect and more oompf, which gives it a hardware characteristic, but other Nebula programs work good too. Generally the sound is a little more 3D and fizzy, not flat like normal VSTi. It's easy to get carried away though, so best to use sparingly :)

  11. Sometimes you find an ARP2600 in the strangest places. Here it is in 1973. Special mention to the drummer.

    The "ooo!" in Moogerfooger.
Or maybe the Moo in gerfooger!
Which of course, according to how his name is pronounced, would be said MoegerFoeger.
I have the hardware and the software, and the software rocks! And I used to trade the ROM cards so I have nearly all the commercial cards that were released. There are only a few I'd still like to hear!
And the 106 was my first keyboard, but I prefer the hardware to the cloud version.

But he himself is credited for drums as well as Gerry Conway...

@statik You probably could emulate something like it with modules from Modular or Voltage.
It's just Reaktor can get so low-level that you could actually come close to recreating that exact signal path and logic and in a somewhat user friendly way.

Used a few hardware and synths, but ended up selling them. If you produce well nobody is going to hear the differnce, with layering etc, things will be masked anyway.

The one thing I'd like to have is a hardware "synth" that works with any VST out there in any daw. The only thing I'm missing is playing with the knobs, rather than mouse.

Was hoping to see somebody actually drooling over a synth!!!

Hardware synths are different beasts from VST's they really are, I love both, but there's nothing I've encountered in the VST world that can do what the Minilogue xd does, for example. There's character there that's lacking in VST's. I've really been getting into the xd a lot lately, fill it up with user oscillators and FX and it's a beast.

Did I mention the Hydrasynth? That's a drooler!!!

I just bought a Subsequent 37 and my God does it sound good.

I own other hardware synths -- a Microbrute, a Virus B and a Minilogue XD, but nothing sounds as good as that Moog does.

I was considering the Sub 37 and the Matriarch. I played with them and could not get a bad sounding patch. Everything was perfectly deep and resonant. Thing is I like the experimentally weird so I got a Subharmonicon. Then a DFAM and a Mother 32.
    No regrets. No surrender.

FYI - Moog has these Sound Studio bundles now which come with 2 tier racks and a summing mixer.
And a nifty little cardboard cutout synthesis game with dice

sub37 and mother are so limited in sound ablitiys and sound in compare to that 90ies monsters .
there is a reason nobody sells (edit ok rarely )old waldorf's etc and why they so pricey still.
people learnt from selling and regretting from 303-909/ensoniq asr bla bla cheap selling in 90ies or when this cheap wave was .

ASR-88 was a cool workstation. I don't think they were cheap either.
And I had a few of the rack mounts of there synths, and they were great.
First things I had that were multitimbral and muti MIDI too.
I kept the SQR-PLUS because some of the patches were really good and so unique, and they really cut through in live performance.
They were doing things other manufacturer weren't.
