There's multitracks here I was gonna try mix some to practise

But I find myself asking if it's worth it as the multitracks on most songs are already enjoyable to listen to I would say

So I am not sure as to if its worth to mix them further, like getting it cleaner, the unmixed versions have their beauty also.. Don't they? Plus.. Its still mixed in some way even if its unmixed

They are not like unbearable to listen to or anything..

Just looking for some advice on this thanks

Plus a song may not be motivating enough to sit down and mess with it another few hours or days to try and get another 10% out of it

[IMG] (no offense), when you listen to those files over there you are listening to the mixed/mastered versions.
Download a small project, import all files to your DAW, press play and you'll hear it.

if you decide to go for it, It's good practice overall.
Training your ears and your "workflow". get a taste for it. getting hands dirty. gain confidence

find a refference track(s) so you can compare what you are doing to something.
set a deadline for yourself and stick to it. Commit to say 2hours (excluding setuptime)
then when its done, grab a beer or whatever to celebrate. next day review what you've done and pay attention to what worked in favor for you, and where you had issues. Write it down so you wont forget.

start all over again on another song/mix and use that past experience you have gained moving forward and keep taking small steps and keep going. over and over :)

they might be more polished, more clean, but does that make them necessarily better?

i think there's also some magic in unmixed versions that is lost by doing all that

but yes first i have to test more before i say all this......so anyway will get to that soon..

I'm afraid one of us misunderstood the other. You said
and the simple answer is yes, because the songs you're listening to on that page are the mixed and mastered versions, the single tracks of these songs are the unmixed recordings. Therefore there will be quite a difference between the single tracks of the songs and the result you're hearing at cambridge-mt.
Maybe some of the recording are a bit pre-processed by low cuts but on principle they're raw.

Listening to the full mix or excerpts give you an idea of what can be done with the included multitracks (some with session files) from the moderator of the site or, the artist mix.

The multitracks vary in sound & production quality. You will also find the odd track that requires some editing to correct issues. This gives you a chance to learn & perfect critical listening, decision making & production skills.

Material not being motivating is part of the real-world process. Mixing, editing & production choices can make a so-so song okay or better. It's good to mix music you don't normally listen to. Good & crap music exist in all types.

Try free multitracks tracks from other sources like Puremix & Pro Mix Academy (Produce Like A Pro).

    Happy tracking!
