I really like his (Aston CEO) view on things. Don't know what is going to happen to this company. I just bought an Origin and really like the design, build and sound for that price range.

AFAIK it's him, the founder, the chairman etc.

No comment other than that Music Tribe is basically a holding company. So far anything under that umbrella is operating independently, so the products probably will not be affected.

My take: centralization bad for sure, but at the same time it affords a greater resources to the brand.

+/- 0 if you ask me.

Monopolistic tribalism in the making. And music devices making businesses are just a tip of the iceberg. Great future outlook for everyone. /s

Speaking of Aston mics, they sound very good, however they were already producing the mics in China [or was it just the capsules? I can't recall], testing and quality assurance is done in the UK, those not adhering to the specs are either rebuild/recycled or maybe sold at action prices? If they move the quality testing to China, too, that would most probably have some adverse effect on their products... but they've become pretty popular already so people won't notice the slight loss of quality.

My experience of acquisitions (I've been through a few) is that parts of the company are stripped and thrown away. Only good for share holders who are set to make a quick fortune. I have been through four acquisitions/mergers with the company I work for, been with them for 18 years in management, I've seen crucial parts thrown away and good engineers lost.

If you need a good product manager, with 30 years software experience then call me

What Aston does is "bin" chinese mics. I think I read somewhere only 1/4 mics pass their QC in UK before being distributed internationally.
If they maintain their quality standards, but can get mics sourced cheaper due to having the leverage of the goliath Music Tribe behind them its a win win for everyone.
