I have searched but I have a different issue when trying to install and run this.
Have patched and when I open Live it says - The options file (Options.txt) contains an unknown option '-MaxFpsMac' which will be ignored.

I click ok and it just shows the wheel spinning and shows live as unresponsive.

Any idea please?

As the message says, there is a file options.txt most likely in the path your verison of Live is installed to.
The verison of the OS does not need or recognize the setting

1. Open the file options.txt with a text editor and
2. search for the line beginning with "-MaxFpsMac" and
3. delete the line.
4. Save the textfile Options.txt

Restart Ableton Live. The message should be gone.

If Live does not start, you need to provide more information about your software (wich OS version, requirements) and hardware if you like to get help here.

Check if you system meets minimum requirements:
OS X 10.13 or newer
Intel® Core™ i5 processor
8 GB RAM
Screen resolution: 1280x800
Core audio compatible sound card recommended
3 GB of free space on system drive for basic installation (8 GB free space recommended)
Up to 76 GB of free space for additional sound content

Thanks for this but it still does not start.
Mojave 10.14
i5
8gb RAM
200 + gb space
All fine rest of spec.

 

I'm not on Mac but Windows so I can't reproduce the behaviour.
But some time ago I had an issue with live not starting without feedback (on Windows) because the directory it was installed in was not writable (especially the \\Ableton\Live 11 Suite\resources\). I resolved it by granting all rights (R/W/X) to the everyone user for the installation directory and subdirectories.
For Mac OS try to chmod 777 the installation directory recursively (with subdirectories by concatenating "find" with "chmod")

Some option text don't work so that being said remove that line and live should open . Problem solved

 

Yeah I had the same issues with some options texts with an error message but live opened up. I removed the problem text, and live opened up much quicker for some reason. This was all on beta too.
