Is it weird for single guy 35 years old to be driving an SUV

is it seen as a waste for a single guy to be driving an SUV

what about fuel consumption? is it much more than smaller cars?

    any other info?

    thanks!

What an odd question to ask... Who cares what car you drive - drive what YOU love and fuck what others think. To ask your question:
    - No, its not wierd
    - No
    - Depends on the SUV and the engine. Most SUVs are heavier than traditional sedans, so the consumption will be a little higher
    - Check the fuel consumption from the different SUV's you are looking at

  4. What sort of vehicle do you think a 35 year old guy should be driving? A ride-on mower?

    Fancy bastards with your cars.

I ride my bathrobe in my slippers but sometimes I ride my barefoots too.

Drive what you want as long as you can afford it, with your pocket and with your heart.

I am not 35 and I am not single. I am just giving you my numbers and what happens here. It's not average case use we have more cars than we have people in the house.

Gas consumption depends not all SUVs are the same size just as cars are not the same size. All measure as US Gallons not UK.

I average about 15MPG on the Yukon XL Denali best it gets is about 19MPG on the highway, worse it does is 8-10MPG in town or 5-6MPG when towing the horses. Doesn't much use day to day, it's mostly for long trips or trips to COSTCO or IKEA. We also have a Ram 1500 for the same duties, other half doesn't like pickup trucks so it mostly goes to get mulch or move around toys or horses, it's three years old and still only has 12,000 miles on the odometer gets about the same MPG a little worse sometimes depends on what it is towing.

The little CR-V gets about 29 MPG overall. I don't use it much but it gets a lot of use for errands and small trips under 2 hours, shopping and shit. I think it does about 25-26 around town and I've seen say 34 on the highway. I don't like driving it feels a little silty and sloppy. So that's all I know about it.

I mostly drive a GTI it is easy to park and maneuver even in a city. It can carry 4 if it has to gets about 31MPG overall, it can get down in the single digits if you drive like a douche bag. I can get close to 40MPG on the highway around 60miles per hour on flat land.

I honestly don't see the need for SUVs outside of actual utility, the GTI can carry just as much shit if not more shit than the CR-V. If you really need it to do truck stuff then go for it. If you think it adds a few inches on end of your pipi and it makes you feel better and you can afford it go for it. If you think it's the same thing as a car, you might be disappointed, it also doesn't make your wang and bigger IRL.

    P.S.

Affordability also implies you can afford to fix it and park it.

We've had quite a few problems with the big trucks, mostly because we ask them to do truck things and pull heavy shit. Also air suspension and shocks last about 3-4 years. The Yukon is 6 years old and has already had the rears replaced once, the RAM not yet but I know it's coming. It cost about 4K-5K if you take it in about $1200 if you do it yourself. I've done it before on a GMC Sierra it's not that bad if you have the right tools, not just a cheap 30 dollar socket set and somewhere to do it. that Truck got traded in for RAM and I'm just not as interested in crawling under the cars anymore even though I have the tools and the space.

I had a Range Rover HSE Supercharged in my early 30s. It was fast as fuck, but I'd only ever end up racing around with other similarly aged men in like Porsche SUVs and the like. I came to call it divorced dad grand prix. I'm in a very fast sedan now, and though I enjoyed the Range, I'm happy to be in a car-car again.

I guess for many 35 year olds of today the best vehicle for them is driving the garbage truck from their jobs it has lots of storage space and can double as a mobile home at night, when their parents are fed up and throw them out of the basement to make them stop mooching off of them.

If I end up living to 35 here in my garage sleeping inside my SUVini next to my bookshelf full of knawledge... do you guys think I will have to enjoy needing like 10 fucking thousand Q-Tips to clean my every crevice of my reggie bodjee instead of showering regularly?

LMFAO I laughed so hard I coughed & farded. I actually used to watch so much Trailer Park Boys back in college with my buddy but never seen this scene so obviously this smells a little fucky to me mixed in with my fardin.

What I find weird is that this thread isn't in the Humor section.

Hmm... I hope to not sound insensitive when writing this, but I think it would be more helpful to be honest rather than kind.

My first though when reading the title was "what a looserish thing to ask". Dude drive WHATEVER CAR YOU WANT, and give NO Fucks about anyone's opinion. The fact that you (or whoever you are asking for) would even ask is it "weird" screams insecurity. Most people spend most of their teens, and 20's worrying about what people "think" about them. The most liberating thing you can do in your 30's is to be true to yourself. You're young enough to still be living life in your prime, but mature enough to hopefully start knowing yourself, and what you want.

Personally I love SUV's, I like space for cargo whether that be people or items. Also, a bigger vehicle is usually safer in an accident than smaller ones. I like being able to illegally roll over medians or sidewalks without fear of scraping the bottom of the car, and also most SUV's have all 4 wheel drive which is great in various terrains. As far as economics go, the more modern midsize SUV's are great on gas mileage.

And I also always get SUV's with a 3rd row that reclines forward so I can take naps, or bang chicks in the back and have plenty of room.
