I know this is still in the transition phase but wanted to know if anyone has managed to get a cracked Kontakt working and stable on M1.

It not only works, but works astonishingly well on my M1 Mac Mini with only 8GB of RAM! I bought the base model, not intending to use it for music at all, but it has quickly become my go-to machine. Even with big libraries like Metropolis Ark, Orchestra Complete, and Albion, load times are virtually instantaneous, and the CPU rarely goes above 20%, and with lighter libraries under 10%. I did batch resave all my libraries, which improved load times significantly. I'm really looking forward to seeing how everything works once the majority of apps are ported to ARM and running native.

Works just normal, with Kontakt 5.6 to add libraries.

32-bit programs and plugins won't run for sure, since Catalina and it seems even via Parallels those won't run anymore, on Apple Silicon.

The situation is not that obvious. If someone has to buy a mac right now, there are 3 options:
    - buys a mac with Apple Silicon
    - buys the last Intel version of mac that will only run Big Sur (and perhaps Catalina)
    - buys an older model that was announced before October 2019 that can run Mojave which was the last version to run 32-bit apps.

Buying old stuff doesn't seem a smart option anymore, the Intel processors since 2012 haven't really improved much but comparing it with the M1 those are a shame. Also an older OS can satisfy you with your older plugin but can be incompatible with newer programs. Like newer Kontakt 6 versions don't run on older OSes.
Buying the last Intel version is also not a future proof idea.

Never again a laptop and even less a Mac for me, old and senile, i have a big curved screen, a desktop with a processor that ensures, even if it's an Intel always in 14 nm, but tenth generation and stable.
I still find it hard to understand that every time there is an update of the Mac OS there are problems with the applications, and I understand even less their latest find of three-tier computers with no real option for a hardware upgrade, Mac for the poor, Mac for the middle class, Mac for the rich, my son is on a Mac because PT.......
Of course I have nothing against Mac's as a machine, installing Win 10 in bootcamp is still formiable....

This is mainly what I wanted to know, if cracked dngs or keygens would run normally on M1. Don’t have really any experience with Macs but they just seem like a really solid machine for mobile and wanted to give it a try

desktop is ideal of course but I really need a laptop because I move around a lot. I like and have always been on windows but in the laptop space I feel it’s a mixed bag with options

Yes, many macOS updates have caused glitches for older software, audio drivers comes to mind!
But I remember the same issues with Windows 10, too. (upgrading from Win7)
This is partly the fault of the OSes, the audio device makers screw customers shamelessly, making their previous products obsolete in a few years.

There is no point in installing, look into the Ked folder that you have downloaded from the release and just open the kontakt app it should launch with no need to installing aything.

Does OSX crack*d plugins (Izotope, Acon, etc) work well via Rosetta on new M1 computers as fast as on native Intel ? Does Wine or Crossover work ok to generate their keys on Windows or we have to install something previously ? Thank you

In case you didn't get the Memo: macOS has been 64 bit only since Catalina.

Crossover works fine in Catalina and Big Sur on Intel. I am pretty sure the devs will make it ccompatible with M1. Xcode includes all the tools necessary to giarantee cross-platform comtability. It's all about the devs making use of them.

So Rosetta 2 is basically just a passive process that runs indiscriminately And whether or not the software is legit or not? Meaning the whole process of installing will appear no different on the user end vs Catalina?

Why I insist annoyingly mentioning/alerting about incapability of running 32-bit is because on Intel mac you could still run those programs with the help of Parallels even after Mojave. That's what can't happen on Apple Silicon. It's not that it could be impossible (creating an emulator) but I doubt the small amount of potential use-cases would justify the amount of work required.

I know this, it needs to be 64 bit / compatible with Big Sur but also be able to function on M1 through Rosetta

I just don’t know how the translation / emulation part works
