Re-Guitar is within the Blue Cat Axiom Amp Sim. There is a couple of presets in Axiom dedicated to 12-string sims.

It sometimes help to slightly detune the higher octave. It is also advisable to run it through a Vox AC30 or Fender Twin amp sim, but Gojira does it just fine. Here is some more info:

I wondered what you meant by "Toasters" but now see it means that type of pickup

Hi WillyA, I already tried yesterday to find out if the soft you mentioned is able to make the guitar sound like a rickenbacker and i could not but i will definitely install it and try out

if anyone knows the answer, please let me know

a genuine rickenbacker is around 3000 euros, too much money for me right now

about the beatles, i understand you didn't like them (and i forgive you for that ;) i personally love their music, not the sound. i remember i got in late 90s two double cds and since them they became one of my favourite bands ever. my musical background is in classical piano and jazz but when i heard steve vai i got a carvin guit and after a few months was able to play note by note some of his music and some of satriani's amongst others

about the musiclab software, i guess it's for triggering the sound with a keyboard?

While we're at it, does anyone know an Amp simulation plug-in that comes with a good Vox AC30/15 Amp simulation?

You can trigger it with your guitar, I would imagine if you have a connection to your computer. I use a Line 6 POD XT Live (long time obsolete - like me), USB plugs to computer sends audio and MIDI. I've never tried it with MIDI, but it should work OK. If a keyboard can trigger MIDI, why not a guitar.

I had a MIDI pedal board years ago, you could connect your guitar to it, connect it an amp and play just the same as with a keyboard. A guy in Brazil bought it to play live with.

    Most Amp sims, TH-U

Ampltube has AC30, so does Guitar Rig, Wouldn't be an amp simulation without an AC30. I still have one

    Hope all this helps.

I've tried every possible way to get that sound on the cheap . . . failed for the most part, but the closest I got was . . .
    1. Danelectro (much dirtier/noisier, but has the jangle)
    2. Fender played clean (Tele or Jaguar come closest) and run through a Janglebox and/or using Amplitute.

    Best way . . . Buy a Ric . . . . beat up or whatever/wherever you can get it cheapest.

I see Rickenbackers for 1500 bucks around, there's no reason to spend twice as much if you are patient and look around.

I used a Rickenbacker 360 Jetglo in the mid to late 80's for slide work and jangly chordal stuff. I've found nothing sounds like a Rick but a Rick.

Having owned every Beatles guitar except the Hootenanny, Black Widow fretless & J200. I can say without a doubt @Lois Lane is spot on... Especially the 63' 360/12. BTW George used Maxima flats on both of his 360/12.

if everything fails, i will use my old roland vg8x, if i remember correctly, the 'emulation' is very good

    i can afford to buy a rick but i can't afford a divorce :)

also, ... i think a rick it's too expensive for what it gives and find it aesthetically a bit ugly
in my opinion, they should have allowed a squier, epiphone line to reach a bigger number of buyers but this is another story

I used to own a VG8 along w/a Godin Multiac. I could get a pretty close Rick sound w/it back in the 90s. So I definitely think that’s your best option at the moment

how can i disagree with you ? :)

will get a harley benton rd 600, smaller than a rick, will do some corrective luthiering job and voila, a similar looking beatles guitar with a matching sound that will do the job
one thing that puzzles me is that thomann makes a lookalike guitar that sounds nothing like the one they want to imitate

again same case. i also want to buy the harley benton bm-75 (queen look alike guitar) made of mahogany so the basis is good and will use my digitech brian may special signature pedal to get the proper sound. if you use the pups that come with this guitar will find out the picks don't match the target sound either. i don't understand why they do this, that's weird at least
