Yes, I do since last week. Incredible. Game changer. Can't believe Intel has been doing such a poor job for all these years lol.

The fan never heats, basically they managed to create a no-noise/fan/heat computer. According to Geekbench it's more than twice as powerful vs. my previous late-2018 MBP. It's FAST in any circumstance, and stable AF already under Big Sur.

Performance with M1-optimized vsts like Hive 2.1 beta is just out of this world, basically loading times have been reduced to zero.

Finally Apple delivers something worth my money after all these years (it's actually slightly cheaper vs. previous models thanks to the M1 replacement). The 16-inch M1X model should be even more impressive with 12 and 16 cores. I really need more real estate for music, video production and coding though, so this will be my last 13inch model.

Only the webcam still sucks in quality (and the speakers/soundcard too obviously, although it's not that bad for a laptop).

I am considering to get a mac mini, but I am still unsure if I like to do that move, not sure if anything would work hassle free.

I'd say it would be worth a wait till MacOS Big Sur itself becomes "final" in summer/autumn, and that time wider range of Mac devices may be available to choose from

I have 80+ programs installed since last week, anything from music to video/motion design editing and programming. Everything works flawlessly, except Parallels because I can't find a version of ARM Windows 10 (currently on beta trial, I didn't sign up for it so I don't have a .iso to mount in it).

You can check this app RoaringApps it will basically tell you for each of your app the current compatibility with each macOS including Big Sur.

Here's also a list they put up online (but it's not really reflecting it, better check the app directly - for instance Adobe is not in it but it works great I installed the whole suite):

What do you mean "final" ? You cant buy a machine without Big Sur its the current OS?
My M1 mac mini (512 16gb) is the best computer purchase decision I have ever made. Rock Solid, Powerful and trouble free. Not one Crash so far touch wood.

I don't know what he means by "final" lol... Big Sur has been around since June last year actually, for instance there was an update 2 days ago, just a minor fix with some hardware-specific compatibility issue.

It's pretty final already. It's only some of the app developers that are late but since January, most of them are up to date.

something like 11.6 or 11.7 whatever, once that happens, one can safely turn updates off and have at least year without unexpected hiccups,
remember Catalina, they made some significant changes through its updates cycle

First time in several years I've been jealous of you Mac guys. And as a hopeless techie, man, what a game-changer AIO processor.

If I was a Mac user my mind would tell me to wait for the second gen of these babies. But my heart would be like "shut up and BUYYYYYY!!!"

I guess it depends on point of view,
I did some quick benchmarks and my almost-7-year-old 4.3GHz overclocked i7-5820K hackintosh still outperforms M1 MacMini - sure you may say it consumes probably around 10x more power, but electricity isn't yet that expensive to justify new purchase costs of similarly-performing product

Nope. I would like to have one but I think I'll wait for the next generation with a bit more power before I jump ship from PC to mac!

For my next personal laptop, it'll probably be a M1 or whatever's next, not planning on upgrading just now.

For my home desktop... well we just have to see what Apple's got cooking up.

Workwise it's a no go on all fronts though.

Sure mate.. you've run some quick benchmarks without owning one?..sorry i'm calling BS on that one.

Here's what I found in my everyday use..
1: It Smokes my overclocked optimised Intel Xeon E5-2698V3 16 core with 128 gig of ram..."significantly"
2: So much so that I sold my 5700xt (got more than what I paid for it from the miners) and i'm parting it out this week.
    Bye bye good riddence

3 I'm editing 4k log files in Resolve and its like butter.. renders out effortlessly. Most people's video problems are codec related which will be fixed eventually..

4 Logic is insane.. just insane in native mode.
Running an Audient ID14 with two Apogee ensembles in standalone mode via light pipe.. running like a dream
I'm waiting for Presonus Studio One 5 and Bitwig (my DAW's of choice) and I expect that they will be the same in native

I purchased a NUC for Audio Gridder to host my Doze stuff (kontakt server basically) and I've hardly raised a sweat on this thing..Audio gridder has 3-5 ms delay and its rock solid..

Fuck x86.. intel can blow me.. I actualy dont care about all the hype.. This is smallest and the most preductive Rig I have ever owned.

I just bought my Intel Mini last summer so I gotta get some mileage out of this one before I move up. Glad to hear theyre performing as well as they are now. By the time the 'pro' models drop this year or next, hopefully most of the plugins will be ported over (Im a Logic guy so good there), and mainly my MOTU 828x will be working by then. Until then Im good to ride out the last Intel mini, Im mostly hardware based anyways, Logic is just my tape deck when its done.
