    Hello, guys!

So, I recently encountered an issue while using Kontakt latest update.
One of my libraries (HZ Piano) is not showing anymore in the Libraries tab. I use Kontakt 5 to add libraries and everything works fine everytime, and my HZ Piano library was showing time ago, prior to these latest updates. Now it's not showing anymore and I wonder what could I do in order to fix this. I already checked the SNPID code in the XML file and it matches with the SNPID with the .ninct file inside the library folder. So I don't know what I should do now.

I hope you guys can help m out with this, because it's pretty annoying.

just to verify it, go to Options > Libraries tab and check if that library is listed there and if it is marked.
Also if on your system drive in Library/Preferences do you find the .plist file for that library?

The library is not listed there and the .plist file for that particular one is missing. Still, the Library is added and displayed in my Kontakt 5, but not in Kontakt 6.

What if you create the .plist file?
Go to Library/Preferences and choose one that has <key>HU</key> and <key>JDX</key> lines with their long code in the following line.
Duplicate that .plist and change the name of the new file accordingly, to contain the name of the .xml file of the HZ library.
Open the new .plist file with a code editor like TextWrangler and change the HU and JDX codes matching with the code you find in the .xml file (or the same you will find in the .nicnt file as well).
And also change the info in the line after the ContentDir line in the .plist, that defines the location of the HZ library, like this:
    <string>Your HD:Sample Libraries folder:Spitfire blablabla folder:HZ shit folder:</string>
Save the .plist file in the Preferences folder.

    Then open Kontakt 6.

I am doing everything you suggested, but I cannot find the HU and JDX codes into HZ Piano xml file.

Ok, I see, then remove those 4 lines from the created .plist file.
    These lines:
    <key>HU...
    <string>...
    <key>JDX...
    <string>...

perhaps you have registered other libraries with the same SNPID code on your mac in the past.
Check it with the following code in Terminal app, it will list the SNPID codes from all .xml files in Service Center.
    Code:
    grep -i snpid "/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center/"*.xml | awk -F'[<>]' "{ print \$3 }" | sort -n

I actually checked more thoroughly and found that the original .plist was indeed already present. This is what is shown when opened with the code editor. Still not being seen in Kontakt

Please, forgive me if the question is obvious: Are the patches (.nki files) in the Instruments folder in the folder of the library, where beside of the Instruments folder there is the .nicnt file, too?
I don't know if it's a specific issue of that latest Kontakt version but it may be important to maintain the standard structure for the libraries, having the .nki files in the Instruments folder and the samples in the Samples folder.

Also, did you try to re-add the library, even if it had been added and worked fine in the past on the same system before the upgrade to the latest version?
Try to add it again but first delete the .xml from Service Center and the .plist file from both Preferences locations. There is one in the root/Library/Preferences and another in your Username/Library/Preferences that you can reach in Finder pressing Alt key while clicking on the Go menu.
It's just a last hypotheses that maybe, just maybe, the .plist file in the user-specific Preferences contains the same order number in the line under the <key>UserListIndex</key> than other added library. Now, you could waste your time checking the numbers in every .plist time but it seems easier to remove the .plist of this library in both location and the .xml and try to re-add it.
Keep the Kontakt closed whenever you do these steps.

Also I don't know (because I don't have this latest Kontakt version installed) if the location of the library can be the issue. Whether that SSD is an external, whether it's formatted in a specific type that this latest Kontakt doesn't like. Of course, it's quite unlikely but we have to check every crazy possibilities.

So, I did every step you suggested, but unfortunately, after re-adding the library, it still doesn't show within Kontakt 6, just in Kontakt 5.
Don't really know what to do, but it's one of those very important libraries I have that NEEDS to be added and shown through the Libraries Tab, because by just simply accessing it through the Files Tab, you don't get all the sounds and options available.

I'll show you what's inside each file, both .plist, .xml and .ninct. Maybe you'll notice something I cannot.

How do you mean "just simply accessing it through the Files Tab, you don't get all the sounds and options available"?
If it loads the intrument patch via Files tab (or from QuickLoad), it should work.

Could you show us the printscreen about the main folder of this library?

Could you also change the location definition line in .plist in the user-specific Library/Preferences to this line:
    <string>RandleSSD:Spitfire Audio - Hanz Zimmer Piano:Instruments:</string>

Also it's possible that this specific version of Kontakt has some bug but to figure this out you would need to install a different version.

I actually checked better and saw the I get all the sounds options available. That was me overlooking it.

Anyway this is the screenshot of the main folder

I also changed the string line like you suggested but still not working.

Within Native Access the library is listed, though. But in Kontakt 6 it doesn't appear at all.

The simplest solution is to use Kontakted to generate the nicnt. It's a a bit expensive ($20) for such a bare bones app, but it works very quickly and reliably. After generating a new nicnt and wallpaper, just put those in the library folder and re-add the library as you have been, using Kontakt 5x. In some cases, the library won't show in version 5, but it will still work fine in 6.5,x.

Well, thanks for the tips, it sounds very useful. However, I would like to understand why all of a sudden a library working perfectly just stopped showing, out of the blue. I would love to fix this the "normal" way.

Kontakted is not any better than creating a fake .nicnt by your own. Why would you think that it could work any better?
A library either works with any fake nicnt or only works with the original file and/or with its installer tool.
$20 for an .nicnt file creater is steep as hell. And there has been released another free tool here on AS and on AZ.

That's not my experience. Prior to version 6.5, the free tool and manually editing the files worked just fine, however, since the new release, many libraries that previously worked fine with those no longer would display. They all work perfectly with Kontakted. I agree the price is too high, however, I'd rather make music than screw around with manually tweaking all those libraries or trying to figure out another solution. This one works.

So, no clue about how I could manage to make my library showing again?

Create a free account in Native Instruments and download the latest version of Native Access.
Connect ... You should then see your list of libraries appear on Kontakt 6.5.x
