Simple, quick&dirty channel strip plugins?

    Hello all ASers!

I'm on the lookout for a simple channel strip thingy, you know, basic gate, basic EQ, basic comp, basic filters. Doesn't have to be fancy, it'll get replaced anyway if certain tunes make it past the threshold of wanting to get out into the world.

No CPU-heavy ones that mimic classic hardware really, I just want something that I can easily transfer between software. Normally I'd use a plugin chain but that's not really workable when using more than one DAW. Say, I start with Maschine, then make an Ableton project and mix with Reaper or somesuch. Also it's easier to collaborate with a simple all-in-one. And please, let's not make this a "list all strips that you know" thread.

I'm using Airwindows' CStrip at the moment but I could do with monitoring and meters.

*edit:* And also adding to the "classic hardware bit", I'd rather not have something that looks like a spacecraft control panel, the simpler the better.

Thank you! And try I will, most certainly.

While the features are there just by looking at it, it still kind of suffers from the "looking like real hardware" UI. So far the best I've seen though. Let's see if I can sell this to my collabs who are mostly instrumentalists and not engineers.

    Cheers, again!

I've no issues personally creating racks or plugin chains or whatever. But that's not the issue, I'm looking for an all-in-one that can be simply used in various DAWs and various people (who, again, are not engineers).

Oh man, that Striptool looks pretty much what I'm looking for, thanks! I think we have a winner at this point. Ok, it doesn't have a gate but that's no big deal.

If they're up for a universal bridge (jBridge or Blue Cat) or using Reaper, not a problem.

I can easily distribute a zip file with all the necessary ingredients to make this a one-click operation, I think.

Thank you all who responded, I think so far the Dead Duck zero-latency is leading, so I'm sending this out and have feelers out what people think.

I like the sound as well, and it's simple to operate (this is key).

I love TBProaudio's CS5501! Not modeled after any particular channel strip, there is 2x of all of the modules and they can be re-arranged, great saturation, oversampling and it also has TBProaudio's AB-LM gain matching so the ouput volume stays the same as the input.

I love this channel strip. It sounds great and is very light on the CPU...The UI is disgusting, but if we're talking about sound and efficiency, this is the one.

You probably know it already, but Waves SSL Channel. Also, Metric Halo Channel Strip for more flexibility.

The lowest cpu I've seen is the Waves SSL-E/G Channel.
