    And with learning ones' instrument.
    And with meditation.
    And with martial arts practice.

Because it is one of the templates of the universe, it will apply anywhere; above and below.

I guess "better perceived loudness" via clipping is what my brain detects as "shitty sound".
My brain hears "blown speakers". I like electronic music and dance music, but most modern mixes i have to play very low as background and only listen a short time.

But i guess it is different to those growing up with the sound, particularly in the formative years.

Thanks RMorgan!!! For me this is one of the best shares here as I was trying to make up my own similar things last week with standardclip, pro-l and Elevate to get to 6Lufs. Perfect timing! Good to see someone else articulate the theory on it and get some more info. Only thing I'm adding is using two limiters with another clip in between so last limiter is only doing 1-2db as he was worried going 6db with pro-l.
This was better then most of the paid tutorials I'm taxing off the sister site.
Only problem is now I have to watch all of his other videos. Cheers!

Are you using the older, free version of Clipshifter?

I use the latest Clipped-MAX, the upgraded Clipshifter. It leaves nothing to be desired has various clipping modes.

Little Clipper is really bad! It aliases like hell.

I agree, but that's only when it's overdone like in most EDM mixes. Sounds really awful. I prefer mild applications of soft clipping here and there to flatten micro transient overshoots and to give the mix some analog like weight, without killing natural dynamics totally. It's a balance act.

I've been using Airwindows Ultrasonic or the new Channel 9 first in the chain to avoid aliasing when it becomes a problem, and it works great. Give it a shot.

Thanks for the hint, might give a try. Generally I tend to avoid heavy aliasing plugins. Clipped-MAX with its very flexible oversampling options sounds very clean, but of course it will eventually tax the CPU.
