You might want to try driver version 3.29.
I would steer away from any other driver available if that version does not work.
And would simply return the device.

I can imagine that you have had enough of Behringer after this.
But I would still recommend the 404HD, I've used it as my vessel for the past 2 years.
and it always worked without any trouble, on win 7 and win 10.

But I couldnt find 3.29, if youre talking about the one that is in behringer site "UMC Drivers", it doesnt work with UMC22

As I said, they work, better than no-drivers but they dont work better than asio4all, and they are buggy

How big is the difference in performance from Behringer UMC22 to Focusrite Scarlett solo? (DAW performance)

yep, ASIO4ALL works fine, but idk why its running so bad, I have a Xeon 2620 v3 with 16gb ram, all ddr4, 1TB SSD...
I was hoping that getting an audio interface would give me some boost in performance, I'd like to know if Focusrite Scarlett Solo would give me better results

I had a Behringer audio-interface, and it gave me huge driver problems too. Now I have a Swissonic from Thomann, and the drivers are.... not really good either.... The cheap interfaces seem to have really bad/weak drivers, for some people they work good or even great, but for many they are problematic. I guess an interface from the bigger or not so cheap-ish brands has at least better drivers... But what do I know lol. I only had a Steinberg 3 years ago, which drivers where MUCH better.

I really thought the Behringer drivers would be good enough, because they make so many awesome analog synth copies right now, and they even wanted to develope an own daw or something like that, so I just bought an interface 1-2 years ago.... But I couldn't really work with it, so I returned it .-.

Just get a Scarlett Solo Gen3 and you will be happy for a long time. Never had any issues with the drivers and the CPU usage is not very high, unless I want super low latency for recording guitars.

Well, I'm using Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD Interface without any lags, pops or clicks here in my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (32 GB RAM)... everything working just great :dunno:

I had a UR22, after that i used my Yamaha THR10 as an audio-interface (it uses the same drivers as the Steinberg-interfaces, because Yamaha is Steinberg or other way around xD), I just want to sell it because you can't really record anything with it. But all the newer Steinberg interfaces should use the same drivers, so I think a UR12 should be working without problems, too.

Maybe I'll buy the new version of the UR22 soon, because I know that I shouldn't have any problems with it, but I don't know yet, Focusrite stuff looks interesting, too.

I had exactly the same model but it didn't really work for me. Like I said, it's weird, for most people it works great, but many others have problems .-.

the thing is that with like 90%+ cpu you will always get some issues, best interfaces for stability and to retain low latencys would be something like RME but then you are looking at a new pc territory price point

so op thought audio interface will reduce cpu load, no wonder he got disappointed... this is not why you buy it
more expensive interface won't magically speed up your daw, latency and features are all there is to it

to give you an example: I can run just as many instances of plugins in my projects when I'm using umc22 OR onboard realtek OR when I had scarlett solo, the only difference is latency
with built-in realtek I get ~30ms, if I lower the buffer size to get ~10ms there will be crackles (so I would keep it at 30ms)
but interfaces like behringer or scarlett let me lower the buffer size to the point which is not achievable using realtek without audio crackles, so whenever I press the key on midi controller I will hear an artifact-free sound with "delay" of 10ms or less

basically, if you try increasing buffer size (sacrificing latency, no matter which soundcard) and the audio still is popping then the problem is cpu (or bloated os), which simply cannot handle more than 100% of its processing power

I get what you mean, but I knew that, I wasnt expecting the audio interface to do a really big difference in my CPU performance, but in fact I wasnt expecting the driver to be so bad, I really dont like using ASIO4ALL because it doesnt let me use other sources of audio, and the interface driver is pretty bad, clips for no reason, so I'm asking if Scarlett Solo would be any better

it could be better in driver territory
you should try fl studio asio, it comes with fl studio demo installer and will allow you to have other sources playing audio, I believe you can use that driver in any daw

Lol, seems its all about luck, i have excellent performance with all drivers, even with ASIO4All, i am using it right now and i get 2.5ms of latency, no pops, clicks, nothing, i can open giant plugins and no problem either. My PC is old as hell, its a I3 3240, 8GB RAM... i had the UM2 and its a great interface for the money.
I am pretty sure the problem is with your PC, not the interface itself or the drivers.

    I dont think so
upload_2021-2-19_18-30-9.png this is more than I actually should need, idk why, (the bass clock is overclocked to 3.20ghz)

    1. How long have you had this PC? Are you using the very latest drivers for your motherboard? For example, i just found this windows 7 USB3 driver for your motherboard that was only released in a few months back.
    2. Which operating system are you using? Is it correct to assume you've fully & obsessively optimised it for audio?
    3. Do you know anyone who could maybe let you borrow a different USB audio interface for a few hours to test the general performance integrity of your PC through USB?

I only ask the above 'cos misplaced assumptions make for erroneous conclusions...
