first, i have no idea where this topic goes, so mods can move it if needed.

now, just like the title says, i am wondering how to make music for the nintendo ds.
i dont think that professionals use things like Korg DS-10 and NitroTracker, cause
the first is a video game and the second one is an app for the ds, made by non-professionals.

so what tools or ways do they make the music. let's look at some examples: pokemon games,
mario games, how they make that each cue sounds like it comes from one source (perhaps a synth)?
it does sound synthy, but if so, what synth would come close to that and then how would one
convert that to ds format, i know some ds formats, but i dont have the tools.

the reason i am asking all this is if i want to go in video game composing, since there is
no real school for that, well, i guess internet is the only way...

    thanks in advance.

    cheers

A very well known Middleware is CRI's ADX (for NDS) oder ADX2 (for 3DS).

There's also an English site, but unfortunately with less information.

Hi. I´m here to ask the inverse question.
There´s a way to extract individual sounds from a NDS?
A friend of mine bought one and the sounds from Electroplankton are really interesting for sampling.
    Thanks.

hmm in theory, you could try finding the ROMs online and seeing if you can extract them.

or the brute force method, 3.5mm cable from the headphone jack of the ds to the mic jack on your computer.
