It´s late here and I´m tired.

I spent all the day installing my first pair of monitors ever, painting, cutting some wood and mounting and changing furniture in my bedroom (the smallest bedroom ever).

But I´m happy now. Everything sounds great and also I started the track that I want to submit for the Audio Sexed project, after several months of serious writing blocking. It´s just a bunch of notes now, but they sound promising in my head arranged with still abstract stuff.

So before going to bed I found these videos, and they finished my day in a nice way. Maybe you´ll enjoy them too.

man I got fucking 3 tracks down for the AudioSexed Album, and just finished a track today...don't know which one to upload. Prolly gnna make more till the deadline and eventually pick one.

I've got some really badass ones for real, but I don't wanna upload them cuz I've just sent them to my mentor and he's going to give me some feedback on it first...

Great. Yes, Tool is.. no words. Is one of my favourite bands ever, I´m listening them since I was a teenager and is one of those bands that you need to go back from time to time, and being blinded because their wisdom again and again.

Be sure to consider APC for Transmissions too, another life changer band I saw them for the first time this year, and it was outstanding

 

Trust me I already have when I first made it but the question is where to put them because currently they don't fit anywhere. I'm thinking of reorganizing the music section or adding more threads. The problem is if I make a separate thread for each genre it becomes harder for people to post because they first have to not only find out the genre of the band but also the song since some albums traverse genres. I'll have to think about how to handle it.

I´m curious about your sounds HK, send me something man. I´m not a leaker, I always listen pre release tracks for others musicians that want an outer impression.

 

yeah it's important for everybody to find someone highly experienced in audio engineering and sound production who can properly give you feedback and criticize your work and really build up your work ethic.

That's why I never really like asking for feedback on my tracks to random people on forums but rather actually go out of my way to find someone who can help me properly and give me more than JUST feedback...

It's no easy feat though, to get the best in life you really have to step out of your comfort zone and get your hands a bit dirty. You have to be able to throw away things like ego and shit and place your devotion and your passion into the thing you want to do, or else it prolly means you aren't really passionate about it...

 

Nice to hear that you're on the right track carl. Since you're the initiator of this whole album thingy I expect great things from you. No pressure mate

For me, this AudioSexed project has brought on some fresh inspiration. I've got 2 ideas for new tracks that I think could be pretty good, and finally had some time to start working on them this past weekend. But now I feel totally undecided about which one would be best to go ahead with.
One is pretty tough and angry, the other much more cool and reflective. Problem is I must make a fast choice if I'm gonna have any chance to complete an arrangement, not to mention record and mix it in time.
I'll probly just end up missing the damn deadline (wanna insert 'sad violin player' smiley here).

Also music is so hybrid today that is strange a track that doesn´t transverse genres, and people label music differently.
I don´t know how to label most of the music I listen or write, so.. good luck my friend LOL

Yes, it´s great to have a mentor
I don´t have one. Or at least one really experienced on engineering.
But I usually send my tracks to my partner/friend who works with me in some audio stuff. He´s better than me in mixing and understand my aesthetic decitions so is more objective and reliable in his reviews.

I´m also a bit rushed, I´m practicing a few guitar lines in my free time so I can record them decently next weekend. Recording aways take time, and I want to mix this track all by me in this opportunnity.

Yes man, we´re warm in here.
Winter wasn´t too aggresive this year, just a few days really cold with a bunch of snowflakes at the city in the mornings.
Girls are more casual now, showing us why we can´t live without them, melting our brains.
Beauty is in the air.
But.. I preffer autumn, hot is killer and really dry here, I need some rain and cool gray days to make better noises.
