Doubtful, they barely changed anything (as usual.. there is a massive brain-drain in abletons coding team!) so if they wasted the little time & energy they have to offer on the copy protection, the whole world would be full of rage

It takes TWO FULL YEARS to add comping & MPE to the DAW... think about that a while..

Ableton 10 was just as disappointing for everyone, then it took them 5 FULL years to add a wavetable synth and multi-note editing:)woot:..) they have wasted so much time & money on PUSH,
That i thought bitwig would overtake them in a few years (they almost have!!)

Meanwhile REAPER, Studio One, Bitwig coding team are blazing away..:guru:

Then i simply make new accounts every 90 days, ive done that so many times, to get the ableton packs. its done in little as 2 mins. If u decide to do so, then why not.
Only problem could be when my internet is not working, because no internet no authing.

Thanks @ArticStorm for the update, i was wondering how much longer they were going to wait! since announcing it in november so they could compete a bit with cubase 11 release

aha, nice i was not aware of this trick

Yeah last two beta notes were only cosmetic stuff, so it was only a matter of making it official i guess.

    https://www.ableton.com/en/release-notes/live-11-beta/

Yup, so far i know Live leaves no traces of its authing, when done, just uninstall and install again the trail and auth with new account.

I tried Bitwig so many times, i just dont like it.
Also ableton is rock stable one of the biggest problems of v8 was that it randomly crashed on all ocassions. I recently needed v8 devices and installed ableton 8.2 again, and it simply crashed the first time opening. This was one of the main reasons, i wanted bitwig so bad, but after that i feel very confortable in Ableton 10 right now.

Not sure how others think and feel about that. I am also not into that modular stuff, which bitwi has to offer, only nice is maybe this sandboxing of plugins, which ableton doesnt have, but that is also no problem, as plugin compatibility has increased with v9 till v10.

REAPER and S1, also missing the great workflow Ableton has and FL lets the fans in idle run like crazy compared to Ableton.

    So Ableton wins for ME.

i dont like bitwig either, not a very nice DAW for me, as you said live is so much better and it dont crash very much, onlything is sometimes when you close it it hangs and also that live indexer.exe causes it to open slow after a crash so if you kill it in task manager it loads faster.

Wish they would add an option to turn Indexer on /off . I use a folder and move it to it and when i need it move it out before opening Live. Works a treat just have a link to my desktop for easy access .

the update I'm waiting is undockable instruments from the strip,
working in a thin line of instruments for all the time and moving it left and right when you have the big screen space of in front of you makes me sick

what im looking the most forwars is probably the grainular devices and i hope hybrid reverb does not kill my beloved ableton reverb, would like to have two separate reverbs. (for simplicity reasons and the minimal character of ableton)

    ahh and the lanes feature

I must admit I was disappointed by the lack of innovative new features when the announcement was made but I also know I will be looking on the sister site every 30 mins from Feb 23rd until R2R do their thing.

No power user by any stretch, lol, but one thing that annoys the #$@! outta me and that changed after L8..... as I go about auditioning loops to see what works with what, if I need to adjust the volume control for a loop/sample I'm auditioning (the one with the tiny headphone icon), it flipping stops playing.
I have absolutely no idea what could possibly be any advantage to that working that way except perhaps in some kinda dj'ing application. Maybe there's a simple key command I never learned to restart playing rather than going back and having to click on it in the browser again to get it going..... but it irritates the shit out of me, heh.

I had skipped 10 but recently grabbed the upgrade sale in order to get 11 free.

I'd love to have the ability for screensets but apparently that's against the whole Live style of workflow.

How exactly it's broken, genuine question?

    I never have any issues.

It's interesting that I've watched tutorials involving both Logic (Disclosure) and Pro-Tools (Ryan Tedder) where the presenter had to manually adjust the waveform position in the timeline due to known latency/delay composation issues with the DAW.

The problem is, people mention PDC problems, but no one explains for people not familiar with Live what exactly is broken and how to trigger it. I would really like to know that.

recording with monitoring on doesnt compensate latency , any plugin that is triggered by sidechain input doesnt work properly , resampling doesnt compensate plugin latency you have to manually allign everything

im not aware that i have problems with that? it seems to work well. There is a bunch of older projects from v8 times, which def have PDC problems, (around 8.1.x), but this never happened again in a long time for me.
